The Sun is shinning

My hero was off on Friday. At some point Thursday night he woke up and opened our bedroom windows. About 6am I woke up and could smell spring. It was already 50 degrees. I had a hard time waking the kids to do school. I decided if I could get the kids done with school we had to get out of the house. I think the kids knew what I was up to because before lunch they were all done with school. My hero decided it was a great day to head to the lake to go fishing. We only stayed a hour because the fish were not bitting but it felt great to set with the sun on my face.

Go jump in a lake

My husband told my children to go jump in a lake. Guess what? They did, only this lake was drained. I can not wait to take pictures of them this summer after they re fill the lake.

Fill in the blank Friday

1. I am A child a God, a blessed person, a healed woman, saved and forgiven. A wife, military spouse, a mom of four and one baby in heaven, baker, a cook, a babysitter.

2. The bravest thing I've ever done was I know I should have something good to say here but really it is not coming to me this morning. I would say letting my husband deploy and not lose it every time he does.

3. I feel prettiest when I am pregnant, I love being pregnant, I long to be the person who is huge and pregnant. I was with my first but I do not remember being big with the others. Actually I normally lose weight during my pregnancy and with my last I was in the hospital for 5 weeks and came out 30 pounds lighter. weird since I am never sick.

4. Something that keeps me awake at night is fear, thinking about what is going on in my husband’s life when he is deployed, thinking about what needs done that week or who I have disappointed or let down. Praying, wishing it was praying more than anything else.

5. My favorite meal in the entire world is fried chicken, mash potatoes, gravy, green beans with biscuits and banana pudding or chocolate cake.

6. The way to my heart is taking time to listen to me even when I am telling you something I have told you the story ten times before. Telling me about your day so I do not feel like I am the only one talking. Calling me for no reason other than to say hi .
7. I would like to take the day off from school today. It is already in the 60’s and my hero is off and this is the only day we do not have anything to do. So I would love to get out of the house and do something fun. But I hate to give up another school day. Oh the decisions in life.

Can he come and fix the broken toilet when my hero is constantly deploying .
If you would like to meet other military wives or link up please head over to Wife of a Sailor

5 Question Friday

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row? I have, I do, I will again. I can’t believe I just admitted this. It is bad especially when my hero is deployed and I am home for a week at a time. Some days I think I even forget what I wore the day before. I will also eat the same thing for several days in a row.

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be? If I had the money it would probably be New York City, but only if I could see all the shows. My dream would be to live in a small country town without neighbors. But close enough to a big city that I could shop when I wanted to.

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation? Fly in a heartbeat. I hate (except that is a bad word) to drive, I would do just about anything to get out of driving.

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"? In my dream world it is steam cleaning floors, washing windows, and dusting the house, making sure the garden is ready to be planted. In my world it is sweeping the front porch and making sure the Christmas decorations are taken down.

5. What is the best book you have ever read? Redeeming love, I have read it ten times and love it each time. I love the healing it talks about.
