Saying Sorry

Teaching my child to forgive has never been easy.
They will say sorry quickly but taking time to help them understand what that means is hard.
Today Jacob bit Grace. He quickly said sorry but I don't think he understood how much he hurt her. So after a few minutes I had him go back to her to see the tears and understand what he did.
He caught on and instantly hugged her like he felt bad. I love the look on his face when he knew he made her happy.

Homemade Lunchables

PamelaMy friends children came to play today. I did not prepare for extra kids so we made lunchables. They loved it and I got rid of several things in the fridge.
I actually love having extra kids around. Although I get bored because they all play nicely and I am just setting around.

Do you enjoy having other kids around?

Sickness

What a week, my husband left for a trip, two children are sick and Jacob is really sick. He has pneumonia and bronchitis.
I thought he was getting better and did not take him to the doctor. One morning he seemed off so I took him in and sure enough his oxygen was at 88.

Just as he was getting better he hurt his foot and did not walk on it for about 15 hours. I thought for sure that he would have to go in for a X-Ray. He is still favoring it but I think after a trip to the chiropractor he is feeling better.

And finally it is the time of year that my daughter has lots of nose bleeds. Jacob decided to join her and act like his nose was bleeding.

I think we are finally feeling better. I think we will still stay in the house another week to make sure.

Wordless Wednesday

Did you ever fear you would be locked in a locker. Jacob does not have that fear.
He locks himself in a locker.

No Monkeying Around

No monkeying around today because these monkeys are the bananas. I wish I could grow bananas for them because they eat them faster than I buy them.
Sometimes I freeze them for ice cream and sometimes I buy them when they look bad so I can freeze them for banana bread.
Needless to say we never have enough bananas for our troop of kids.

New Products

We have been working on lots of new things for the holiday shows. This week we practiced making bath bombs and bubble bars.
I will say both are interesting to make and take practice. But wow they smell amazing.

The kids do not mind because they have been able to test all the new products.

Did you know that you can order any of our bath salts or soaps on our Facebook page. We can also ship. They work great as a birthday gift or a Christmas gift.

Happy 10th Birthday Grace

I love Grace and her heart. She had the best birthday. She designed it. She started the day by making the family waffles.
Then because turned 10 she got the privilege of getting her military ID.

Then she came home and made her own birthday cake. Then she iced her cake and decorated it.

And finally she received her gifts, by far her favorite gifts were a wig from her brother and a drill from her daddy that has a flash light.

Her only complaint was that she did not get to make us breakfast in bed.
I love this child.

Choosing Joy

The last few weeks have been hard. My husband was away, my vehicle was acting up and the weather has turned cold and dark. Daily I allowed myself to be annoyed by my life.
Then I looked at this view and reminded myself how blessed I am.

So for today I will work on being more grateful and look at my amazing view.

Flat Daddy

We love our flat daddy, what we don't love is not having real daddy home.
Jacob does not understand why when we pull in the drive way we can see daddy's truck but not daddy.
Some times we just take time to cry and  be mad that daddy is not here. Then we get busy and make plans for when daddy is home.

He is 8

He is 8, I can hardly believe it.
Jason was only three when he joined our family. He has changed this family so much in ways I never dreamed.

He is smart, he is funny, he is literal, he makes me smile daily and makes me pull my hair out almost as often.
He by far brings me the most joy during school, he loves to learn.
He loves being the center of attention and I love finding ways to make him the center of attention.

Big Brother Pillows

Big brothers make the best pillows. Although they do not pay attention and sometimes you fall off the couch.

Bye Bye Roosters

I knew the day would come but I don't think I knew how soon it would happen.
We bought hens this fall or so we thought. We actually bought 5 roosters by accident. No one needs 5 roosters so 4 of them became dinner.

I stayed inside and Faith stayed in her room. Hope on the other hand wanted to do it on her own. YUCK!

Puppy Love

Have you ever seen a dog look so sad.  If she stops rubbing him he looks sad then he smacks her.
I love our dogs and all the love they bring to us.

Beautiful Dogs

I love our dogs. I really really love our dogs. They tolerate my baby boy. Maybe because he is always offering them pepperoni.
My teen was sick this week. Grace wanted to be by his side to watch him.

As much as I dislike the snow I love watching the dogs run in the snow. Sadly  thy will need to stay on a leash until we can get the new fence built.

Bye Bye Curls

I finally did it, after 27 months I finally agreed he could have a hair cut.
I am so grateful for friends who can cut hair and not go over board.

He sat so still and did not say a word. It really made it easier on me to let her cut his precious curls.

Do you see those curls laying there, just moments before they were on his little head.
