miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. This week I was standing in front of a vending machine getting coins out of my purse when this older man gets close to my face and says "Get the mountain dew, I know you love mountain dew. I love mountain dew even though I know it is bad for me". My mouth dropped and I was shaking. How in the world did this man know that I live off of mountain dew? I actually saw the man in the parking lot tapping on someone's window. I assume it was his wife because a elderly woman sat up and was obviously asleep. But, still how in the world did he know I love mountain dew, do I wear a sign I do not know about.

2. Today my husband and I discussed my daughter starting her cycle and rather she would use sanitary napkins or a diva cup like her mommy.

3. This week my baby boy turned 14, how is that possible. My husband informed me that he needs to start shaving. I said no way he is blonde and no one else will notice it but you.

4. Last week we got our dog groomed at a new location and while he came home looking great he smelled like old woman Avon perfume. I could not stand having him close to me.

5. I love the commercial where the wife tells the husband that she is having triplets and he faints. I would love to have triplets or even twins. How fun would that be?

Mother Nature

So today my husband and I were out shopping and decided to pick up a few discounted Halloween costumes for our girls. We do this every year and they use them as dress up. It is a great cheap CHRISTmas gift.
After we paid for them my hero asked what we were going to do when she outgrew dress up. That thought broke my heart. But then I looked up at my big strong man and said, so dad what are you going to do when she calls you and ask her to bring home sanitary pads? He said, oh no she will not. But, it brought up a conversation I had not thought about. I assumed she would wear sanitary pads and had even had the talk with her about them. Then my wonderful husband said he assumed I would just order her a Diva cup. My mouth just dropped, that thought had never crossed my mind.
So my question is what did you start out using and what would you like your daughter to use and why?
But now that I am on the subject of a diva cup let me just say it was a wonderful investment and I wish I had not waited so long to try it. It is great for our budget and honestly after the first few times it was easy to use.

Christmas Cards

I love Christmas, I have not always but my husband is a huge holiday person so he has wrangled me in.
I normally make my own cards; I love making them and always end up with more than I need.
This year I just do not have the time or energy but since we move around I wanted a nice card to send to friends. I have used shutterfly before for pictures but never for cards. That was until I saw this years Christmas Cards. This year they are offering bloggers a chance to have 50 free cards which makes the experience even better.
Okay so help me decide, should we get this card

Or this card
for this year. Should we just use a picture of the kids or the whole family? I think I am leaning toward the one with the newsletter on it. That would take care of two things at once.
Please take a moment to check out all they have to offer. They have Christmas cards, gift tags and invitations. Plus a ton more gift ideas.

Mil Spouse Friday fill in

1.Were you named after anyone? not that I know of. But my dad did want my name to be Gypsy Dawn. Glad my mom nixed that one.

2.What color, if any, are your toenails usually painted? hmm, maroon, red. Right now they are some crazy purple color that I did on my own a month ago. Today my 5 year old said mom, we should get a manicure and pedicure for Michael's birthday tomorrow.

3.How do you flush a public toilet? Hands? Feet? Something else? Feet, nothing else.

4.When you were a little kid, which TV character did you have a crush on? let's see Luke Perry and Patrick Swayze

5.Let’s say you had to lose one of your five senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell). Which one would you choose? Why? Taste and why you ask. Oh that is easy have you seen my body. Seriously, I honestly eat everything bland. When I was in the hospital for 5 weeks I LOVED it. Who in there right mind loves hospital food besides me.

5 Question Friday

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you? This is really hard. About 9 years ago I decided if a teenage boy could do this zip line thing on a playground I could. Only I ended up falling half way across and landing on small pebbles. They were embedded up and down my arms, shins and feet. Luckily there was a nurse there to help pull them out. I refused to go to the hospital. I even drove home and then had to crawl through the house for days (maybe a day). Of course my husband was deployed and I did not want anyone to know how hurt I was. If that was not the most painful then it would have to be having my placenta pulled (ripped, tugged, scraped)out. It not only was the most painful but the craziest thing I have ever seen. I wish we could have recorded it. I swear my OB had his hand touching the inside of my breast (or close). You could see his hand moving around on the inside. I have delivered 5 babies and how crazy is it that the 2 pound baby gave me the most pain and weirdest delivery.

2. How much sleep do you get at night? Honestly, it has changed. If you know me you know by 9pm I am in bed and almost asleep. But recently it has been close to midnight and no matter what I am up by about 6:30am. I could sleep in every day and rarely do. To me sleeping is 7 or 7:30am

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist? I think I was about 6, I saw a strawberry shortcake record player in the closet. My mom said it was for a friend but I knew better.

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? I will tell but please do not tell my husband. I got annoyed one day and decided to go out for a few hours. So I went to the movie. I saw Life as we know it. It was really funny and because I went in the middle of the day there were only about 10 other people staring at me, wondering why I was there by myself.

5. What do you wear to bed? Honest, no judgement if I answer. Please do not judge. I normally sleep in just a t-shirt. But if I can get away with it I prefer to sleep in my birthday suit. Okay, I will say it I love being NAKED! I hate saying it but I love being it. Maybe not as much as I did 100 pounds ago but I still enjoy sleeping that way. No clothes to get twisted. But with four kids it doesn't happen often. And never in a hotel, how weird is that.
