You might be a redneck if you woke up to find a pig in your front yard and your first thought was BACON. Or when your husband decides mowing the grass is not much fun so he gives rides to the kids. Or you see your son now riding the lawnmower and think he could get a job at the mall driving the train. So glad we have a privacy fence. Pamela

Miscellany Monday

I think my house turned totally redneck this week. But you will have to wait until later in the week to find out how. Let’s just say I am glad we have a big privacy fence and no nosey neighbors. All I will tell you is that it has something to do with pigs and lawnmowers. I am reading a new book. One that I cannot put down. I have learned so much. Pamela

5 Question Friday

1. Would you go to your high school reunion? Nope, I heard the man off Duck Dynasty say it best. He said if I have not kept in touch with them for the last 20 years why would I. Kind of makes since to me. With face book you can pretty much find anyone you want. 2. What's something that you've recently splurged on; either for yourself or someone else? An IPAD, so not me to want something so frivolous but I did for over a year and finally got one last week. 3. How do you handle your child's fever? Cool baths, less clothing, essential oils (okay trying hard to get into them, have not had a fever seen buying any), letting it run it’s course, Tylenol. 4. What's the nicest thing to happen to you lately? About a month ago I texted a friend that I wanted a piece of cheesecake, a mountain dew and a good book. A couple of hours later guess what showed up on my door. I have the best friends. 5. What is your current favorite song? Oh this is hard, I so do not keep up with music. I go from one type to the next. But recently I have been torturing my family with southern gospel. You know the kind that would come and do revivals at my southern Baptist church growing up. My husband questioned me on it the other day in the car and I said they do not like it but listen. The kids had gotten very quiet and calm. Pamela

Pregnancy and a 12 Passsenger Vans

So as of today I am 16 weeks 5 days and finally am wearing maternity clothes. The pants are big but my jeans feel bad after a couple of hours. I even went out last week and bought 3 maternity dresses. I may be wearing them every day. Today I went to the OB and it went great. He did tell me that they had a meeting over a month of me. Meaning the high risk doctors and the head of the department. That made me feel good. I asked him if there was something I could do to prevent another early delivery and he was kind of shocked that had not already been dealt with. He said it had already been approved for me to have progesterone shots. OOPS, noone told me. So today I received my first shot. I will go in weekly to receive a shot. I was a little bummed that I could not do it myself at home. The last thing I need is another weekly appointment but it is so worth it. Studies show that women who have weekly shots have a much higher chance of delivering full term. The only side effect is weekly appointments and a sore back side. I can deal with those side effects. I am excited to have a little more hope of delivering full term. Here is a neat article to explain how the progesterone shots work. You can read it right here. Now about that 12 passenger van. When we got the boys we upgraded from a mini van to a suburban. That was just a few months before we started Dave Ramsey. Well now we definitely need something bigger. We need a 12 or 15 passenger van. We have decided we will wait. The suburban is not paid off. So we will wait until we have cash in hand to pay for it. We realized that we are really only all in the suburban once a week. So it is not a big deal to take 2 cars for a while. If we take a trip we will rent a vehicle. Part of me is bummed that we are not getting something bigger right now. Part of me is glad I do not have to give up my suburban. Part of me is excited that we are grown up enough to realize our needs from our wants. Dave Ramsey has definitely changed how we think about our money and what is important. Here is a picture of one of the dresses I chose. This picture is comical because I was making a face at Faith and I was trying on a belly pillow. The sales clerk assured me I would look like this in three months. I can only hope. I love being big and pregnant. Pamela
