Homemade Candles

I love trying out new things. I see a new idea and I have to try it.
This recipe is super easy. Fill a jar three quarters full of shortening and melt, melt one crayon and add to shortening. Add a teaspoon of your favorite scent and stir. We then inserted a candle wick. Then we put it in the freezer for 30 minutes. We burned the candles the next day.
We even made these when friends came over.

Two More Weeks

Today the doctor said two more weeks on his new cast.
Two more weeks of no weight on those tiny (dirty) toes. We can do this. I am so grateful for siblings who will teach him to crotchet to keep him busy.

Can I say while I am disappointed I am grateful for the time we get to love on him and work as a family to keep him busy.

My Girls

These too keep me busy. They keep me laughing and smiling.
When my husband saw this bag of 500 lollipops at SAMs club he had to buy them for his baby girl.

Grace was very proud of herself for not having to use spit on her spoon to get it to stick.

Some days I take my oldest daughter out for alone time. At 15 she is fun to talk to and hang out with. I worry about her growing up too fast then I see her do this and I realize she is still my baby girl.

Telling Lies

Jacob is not sick and having a asthma attack. Grace does not have a sore throat.
My pastor did not resign this week. My husband is not away. My house is not a mess right now.  My car is not making a weird noise. Okay, that is what I am telling myself.

The truth is all those things are going on and I am feeling over whelmed, I feel like I am mourning a loss and I am fighting a cold myself. I want to allow myself to whine then I remember. Broken legs heal and the snuggle time is nice. The house will be cleaned another day, my van still runs great. While my heart is breaking that my pastor will not be there to give me a hard time or that his wife is not there for Hope to talk with they are doing what they feel is best. Who am I to question that. I know God has huge things planned for them and for our churc h and this is where I stay in check. You see this week I thought about not doing my daily Bible reading. I know that I should not only do it because pastor encourages it. So I picked up my Bible and read and was blessed by what I read.
Life is constantly changing and some times it is hard. That is okay, that is eve you pray more, read more and bless others more. So today I choose to be grateful for all I have and for the changes that are happening all around me.

The Crash

This picture should be titled "The Crash", you see my husband and I took Jacob shopping. I told Jacob daddy said he could not have chocolate and in true daddy style he picked up a chocolate bar and gave him.
We went to the next store and he talked/screamed the entire time. He was so excited and loud and hyper throughout the store.

Then we decided to try one more store. He slept through the whole store. I could not believe it. I could not wake him. So  maybe the next time I need a nap I will just give him a chocolate bar.
