My surprise-not for kids eyes

I have a surprise for you. Well maybe not for you but for my husband. Or should I say I had a surprise for him.
Recently I won a giveaway for mycrazy4. The giveaway was for 2 softcups. I was instantly excited because I was using something similar already.
They arrived in the mail and I instantly wanted to try them. Oh wait; you do not know what a soft cup is. Well here is the site and here are my thoughts on it. A soft cup is a menstrual cup. You only have to change it every 12 hours. You do not have to worry about changing it in public because HELLO 12 hours. So last Monday my cycle started. I was so excited, I know I am weird but it was like a new toy I was waiting to use. I had already read the instructions and read every word on there site. They say that it does not leak during exercise and can be worn during sex. Yes, I said that word on my blog. I was able to put it in with no problems and it was so much easier than I thought and guess what they were right you could not feel it.
Now back to the surprise. My hero had been gone a month and guess what he was coming home the next day. Okay, I cannot believe I am about to tell you this. So he comes home and the kids go to bed. And well you can guess what happens next. Only I was acting so weird, I kept asking questions like “does something feel weird, anything different”. I am sure he thought I was nuts. So when things were done I ran to the bathroom and begged him not to move (because I was in fear of a mess). There was NO mess, I could not believe it. I am yelling through the door to ask him again if anything was different and telling him I had a surprise for him. He seriously was scared. A minute later I walk out of the bathroom and have his surprise in my hand. I handed him a softcup. And then explained that I was on my cycle and wearing one. He was amazed. As a military spouse this is a wonderful invention. We often only have our hero’s home for a week or two at a time.
Just to make you laugh, as I was falling asleep my husband said “THAT THING IS HUGE”. It must have just dawned on him what had just happened. It honestly is not huge. I think it was just sinking in.
I went out the next day and bout a box of them at wal-greens.
Okay, I will answer the dreaded question. No I am not digging around to install it or take it out. I was quite amazed at how easy it was to install (install sounds so fun to say) and take out. There was no mess.
I could go on and on about how this is helping the earth but really for me it comes down to comfort and use. It comes down to making the most of each moment I have with my hero. Sadly I will not be able to use the excuse that I am on my cycle again.

God has been calling me back.  I've been having such a hard time with things lately and He is done with me moping around.  It is time to get back to business.




Because of His faithfullness, He is putting people in my life that are encouraging me to go toward His light.  It is always so hard let go of everything we need to let go of in order to be where we need to be.




Pray for me as I allow God to work on my heart.

Overcoming guilt:

Luke 5:24-26 24But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . ." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today." 

Do you live under guilt? Are you really nice to someone because you feel you have wronged them in the past?  Do you give into your children because you did not have time for a bedtime story or you lost your temper with them this morning? 

Well today I want to focus on giving up that guilt. In Luke 5:24 we learn how we are forgiven. 

2 Corinthians 7:10
10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 

I cannot live under guilt any longer. I can ask for forgiveness for my failures. But I cannot live with it. 

The other thing I want to focus on this week is not causing guilt. My mother made mistakes during my childhood. Mistakes I have forgiven her for. It hurts me to hear her talk about the guilt she has over her past mistakes. 

I pray that one day she will be released from the guilt. 

This week I am feeling blessed and happy and counting minutes. In just 5 days I will be going to the beach with my hero for two glorious nights. 

So my prayer request this week is that nothing comes between our time away. That my sitter has a wonderful weekend and the children make this a great weekend for her.

As you know my hero is about to deploy for the eighth time. Something we are not looking forward to. One of the hardest things about my hero being deployed is that the kids do not get to talk to him daily.
So when SuperTinTin contacted me about doing a review I got very excited. This is something that is going to get a ton of use at my house.
We all know that when our hero’s get on Skype we do not know for how long. What would you think if you were able to record that conversation and then re listen to it over and over. What if when dad came on Skype he could explain that math problem your child has struggled with all week and then you could re play it.
One of the things I really like about this program is there are no ads running through it.
They graciously gave me several licenses to share with friends. I am so excited to hear how they are able to stay close to their hero’s during this time.

5 Question Friday

1. What have you done recently that you are proud of? I went to the doctor and was honest about how I feel. That is hard.

2. What is your favorite way to work out? Or if you don't work out, what do you want to try? I enjoy walking, I really want to try zumba, and it sounds so like fun, it looks like fun.

3. If you knew you best friend was cheating on spouse would you tell? I would go to her and demand that she tells. He does not need to hear it from me.

4. If you could afford a live-in maid or nanny, would you have one? Live in maid in a second. Oh to have someone to clean and cook so I could school all day, so I could read stories more to my kids, so I could ………….. Really I would want half of each because it would be amazing to have someone to play with the little ones while I worked with the older ones.

5. Do you stress out about birthdays (specifically the age) or do you enjoy them? Neither, my family sometimes is too busy to think about them. I never worry about the age but we do not make a big deal about it either.

His first hour at home

My hero is home, my hero is home! I thought he was going to be home late last night but he got home in the afternoon. We came home last night and 5 children met him at the door and within seconds it was crazy. They brought in the puppy and then the cat. The cat and dog together always makes things wild.
In the hour he was home before bedtime he tried to fix the new $50 heater the girls poured wax in. Then he fixed the remote control and started to fix a broken laptop before I stopped him.
I did not think we would ever get the kids to bed. Coming home must be hard and over whelming for our soldiers. He had 8 little people climbing on him and wanting attention. While they are climbing on him his wife is looking at him begging for attention and all he wants is a hot shower and a moment without a million people around him.
He did warn the kids that if just one child came to his bed last night he would “stick his boot where the son did not shine”. This is really comical to me to me. So while last night no one came to our bed and I got amazing nights sleep and slept until 7am. Within minutes of waking up this is what our bed looked like:







It is going to be a great day!
