Letters to my Hero

Ooh baby, this is going to be short and sweat, or not so sweet. I am exhausted. I mean I literally am setting here wondering if I will be able to stay awake another 13 minutes until the kids go to bed. Luckily Michael is still awake so hopefully he will sleep past 5:30am and since the girls have been up since 6am they should sleep all night, hopefully in their bed.
A couple of housekeeping questions. My in box says it is at 93% again and I have emptied it out. Plus the TV in our room is not working. The tape is in there but it is not working. We had a good day today. Grace’s appointment went well. We go back in six weeks for a follow up. They were so nice. They gave Grace a certificate for doing well on the breathing test, then they gave her one to send you. She got so excited when they told her to blow on the bowling ball and told them how her daddy taught her to bowl. She thought she was just playing one big computer game. We stopped on the way home and picked up her meds and picked up mother’s day cards. I will get them out tomorrow. I love you, have I said that.
I did sneak a peek at the kittens today but mommy covered them up. Soon I will be complaining about them climbing on me but for now I just want my hands on them. I wish you were here to see Michael right now. He has played with the girls all evening.
Ohh guess what we had turkey and gravy dinner tonight. You know the generic TV type that you hate. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy. When we go to the commissary tomorrow I am going to pick up Salisbury steak. Good night honey, we will talk soon.
Ooh, could you please fly home just for a minute because we forgot to put Grace’s blanket in the dryer and well you know how she is handling that.

My Top 10 – What’s Tough About Being a Military Wife

Wives of Faith MilSpouses Rock
What's tough about being a military wife
1. sleeping alone tonight
2. knowing it is only safe to relax between 10pm-6pm because you know they do not make notifications between those hours
3. Making friends because you have to prove to others that you are worth it, you have to give others a chance to know you are trustworthy
4. holding your husband when he shakes in his sleep
5. telling your children everyday that daddy loves them and will be home one day
6. keeping up with both sides of the family when your husband can not. I have amazing wonderful in laws but I do feel like I have to work harder than most wives to keep our relationship close
7. trying to keep up with all the childrens activities and making sure they do not have to miss anything when dad is wrong
8. keeping the love alive while my husband is alive, I know some people say absent makes the heart grow fonder but honest it is a job. A job I love and am glad to have but truthfully it can be hard. He can not talk about his day, he can not talk about his job. So it can be a one sided conversation.
9. fixing the van, fixing the locks on the door, fixing the chairs when they break, fixing the bank account to make sure there is money in there for him all the time
10. did I say sleeping alone, or grading spelling test alone or tucking the kids in at night or fixing dinner every night alone.
11. yeah I know it only said ten but this is the biggest one. I find it beyond hard to balance life with what I tell my husband. You see as a millitary wife you are taught to not burden them when they are away. I did this our first few deployments and then it dawned on me that he was coming home to a house and family that changed and he did not know. This is part of why I write to him daily and say silly things like I paid this bill.

okay, this carnival has been fun and I have really enjoyed reading everyone elses answers. I do think we need to be positive so while I list all of the negatives there are many positives. Like how every time he comes home from a deployment I feel like a school girl who is in love. I love how he hangs on my every word when he calls home because he wants to know how we are doing.

Letters to my Hero

Dear Rob,
First let me say I love you and miss you. Today has been a great day. I got the electric and water company paid. I figured out the passwords and such. I called the bank to make sure they had our right address. Then called your mom to tell her she would not be getting anymore mail. She told me some exciting news. She said Angela had a baby boy yesterday. Okay if you have picked your jaw up from the ground then I will tell you mom and baby are doing well. She said your dad is doing good.
I have seen the kittens a couple of times today but did not even try to touch them. The kids got school done at a decent time. Although Faith did the same math problem TWENTY times, I thought I would die. Oh and in case you have not had a chance to read my other post from today you should know that Hope and Grace have been urinating in the backyard. They made themselves little potty chairs out of sticks and pine cones but they assure me they are not touching them. I wonder who taught them to do such a thing.

It is 7:10pm and Michael has been asleep for almost 30 minutes and the girls are on their way. Michael put himself in bed. I wonder if he is growing because he has done this the last few nights. I am glad they are getting in bed early because we have to leave the house before 7am to take Grace to see her new pulmonologist. She is so excited. Thank you for calling me this morning and telling me where you are? I promise I went right back to sleep which is really weird for me.
I love you and cannot wait to tell you how her appointment went. If anything it is in a area we have not been before.

I love you baby and hope to talk to you soon.
