Mil Spouse fill in Friday

1. What characteristic about yourself has either been strengthened or weakened due to your experience as a Military Spouse? (from The Albrecht Squad) This is really easy for me and hits home this week. My strength and weakness is the same. It is my attitude that I need to suck it up and drive on. It has helped me be a strong woman who can deal with just about anything during the last SEVEN deployments. But, it also allowed me to make excuses for being tired and in pain for the last 4 years. For telling myself I am fat and old and that is why I am feeling bad. When the reality is I am having thyroid issues and should have had them dealt with years ago.

2. What is your favorite vacation spot and why? (from ‘Tis the Life of the Army Wife)
this is hard because I love amusement parks and being busy. But I also love going into the mountains and relaxing and spending the day scrapbooking

3. If you could have any fast-food restaurant in the food court on base/post what would you pick? (from The Only Pink in a House of Blue)chick-fil-a, no questions asked please bring us some chick-fil-a

4. Where did you go on your honeymoon? (from Pennies from Heaven)This is funny and sad, we had reservations for Governors Spottwood in Williamsburg. Our wedding was like something out of a horror film. You know, no electricity, hurricane hitting close, guest stranded on side of road. So after the wedding we head to Williamsburg and kept driving around to find the hotel. Finally a police man helped us find our hotel. It was like a Budget 8 and underneath was a small sign that read Governors Spottwood. Then the office was closed and we had to wait for a man to come to the office and he was wearing a pair of cut of sweat pant and NOTHING else. The hotel was amazing after all.

5. If you could have any job in the world regardless of money, degree or experience, which job would you have and why? (from Proud to Be a Navy Family and The Calm Before The Storm) Working with abused children, helping them work through there issues and finding good healthy homes

Fill in the blank Friday

1. In the story of my life the actor who would play me would be.... I have a issue, it drives my husband batty. I cannot remember actor’s names. So I will say the lady who plays the wife on everyone Loves Raymond, her TV name is Debra. That is so sad that I would admit that is my life

2. If I could change one thing about the world it would be... how we see children. How we look at people who have more than a couple of children, how we talk about our children, how we treat children.

3. Yesterday... I felt good and it was a wonderful feeling, I felt like I had a brain and I had no aches and pains
4. My favorite comfort food is.... KFC fried chicken with mash potatoes and gravy and green beans and a side of banana pudding

5. My new favorite blog find is...I am sorry to say no one new because I have not had a chance to look around much recently but I look forward to finding everyone else’s
6. If I could meet any blog friend (who I haven't met yet) in real life, I'd choose to meet... a friend called khourtney, she had a preemie about the same time I did and I have watched her struggle, I have seen her Faith. She is a amazing mom and a amazing cook and I could really see us being best friends if we lived closer

7. My favorite breakfast food is.. Homemade biscuits with gravy and scrambled eggs

5 Question Friday

Questions for Friday, September 24th: (Special thanks to Colleen [no blog], inspiration from Pam, Tiffany, Angelina, and Jill for their question suggestions! If YOU would like to be linked in a future 5QF, c'mon over to my community and offer up your best question suggestions!!)

1. If you could speak with a different accent, what would it be (i.e Australian, Scottish)? hmmmmmm British would be it in a heart beat

2. Can you fall asleep anywhere? (i.e floor, couch, deck) a couple of years ago no, but now I seem to be tired all the time and can fall asleep anywhere. now sleeping is another story I need my bed or couch. Actually I would prefer to sleep alone on the couch. I always have but it is not good for my marriage, hehe

3. Do you use public restrooms? If so, do you sit on the toilet? Do I have to admit this answer? The answer is yes and yes. Okay now you can kill me. The reality is that I make sure the kids go potty everytime we leave the house but I on the other hand am in a hurry and never go.

4. If you were stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, what celebrity would you most want to be stuck with? Kirk Cameron, because I know we could find stuff to talk about but I would never be attracted to him or maybe Dr. Phill. oh yeah, Dr. Phill, a 24 hour counseling session.

5. Where did you & your significant other go on your 1st date? Oh now I love this question. He took me to play miniature golf only when we got there they were busy so we went to the driving range first. Then back to miniature golf. I asked if I needed to do anything else and he said NO. So I swing the ball and guess what? It hit a car in the parking lot.

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for a husband who loves me enough to say dear you need new underwear and then take me shopping. Not only did he take me shopping but he made sure I bought more than I needed. Not only did he take me shopping he allowed me to buy granny panties because he loves me.
I am thankful for a friend who told me to get my thyroid checked when I talked about how cold I was this summer. I am thankful for that friend who then pushed me to get that blood work done.
I am thankful for the second doctor I saw who did not lose her brain when I told her I do not use birth control. But, instead say how or why you have not gotten pregnant in the last 4 years. Who said no mam you are not nuts, you have thyroid issue. I am thankful to that doctor who spent a good 25 minutes with me talking with me. I did not have to insist on certain test or to insist to see a certain type of doctor because she was ahead of the ball game and wanted the same things.
I am thankful for a husband who set with me for hours this week after we saw my hormone levels and laughed with me. Who helped research thyroid with me and then laughed when it says things like you are foggy headed. When I baked a cake on broil or poured a can of pumpkin and a white cake mix in a pan and forgot to mix them he did not laugh. I may have a new excuse for all the silly things I do.
I do have a question, do you have thyroid issues? If so what made you have it checked and how do you treat it?
Good, True & Beautiful

Wordless Wednesday

This is life at a campground with 4 children for a week. It was wonderful for me, because I got some time to get things done around the house. It was wonderful for them because they got some time to bond together.
