miscellany Monday

1. The mayhem part. Last Thursday night we went to our first military ball at Fort Bragg. Now we have been to a million (okay 6, haha)balls before and had a wonderful time. This time was so very different that I almost do not want to talk about it. Allot of any military ball is the drinking and while I do not love it I look over it but this one was out of hand. I swear we felt like we were in a night club. I have not seen this much peer pressure to be drunk since high school. I mean there was dancing and pool noodle fighting before the formal part was even dismissed.

2. My Grace... My baby will turn 5 next week; I just cannot believe it. How in this baby girl that weighed 2.12 when she was born now be turning 5.

3. Yard sales.... there is a wonderful lady at our church who brought me a dress a couple of weeks ago and asked if my daughter could have it. I said she would love it. She then asked if I would be offended if she bought other clothes for them from yard sales. I was beyond thrilled. She has since brought Hope a skirt and shirt. I am so grateful for people who are willing to do things like this.

Update, no idea how this showed up today. I am not pregnant (sadly). I did not mean for this to post. But will leave it since some have seen it. It was the start of a post I did a few weeks ago about a lie I told

First this picture is not for children so if they are looking, do not look.

Mil Spouse fill in Friday

1. What is the silliest get-up you have ever worn outside of a Halloween party? (from To The Nth) A cow costume, I loved it. I actually would LOVE to be the chick fil a cow. Can someone convince them to hire me just for the fun of it

2. What is something that you gave up in order to live the military lifestyle? (from Pennies from Heaven) Originally it was money, I was working full time and making decent money, my husband was making decent money. Our pay was dramastically cut when we went active. I guess the other thing is security of knowing I will have my husband here on birthdays and holidays and for the birth of my children.

3. If money wasn’t a factor and you could go anywhere in the world, where
would it be? And why? (from Life and Times of a Displaced Jersey Girl) This is hard because I would love to be able to take my husband away to lay on a beach with amusement parks close by because we love to play and relax. I would love to take my mom to Australia because I know it is a dream of hers. I would also love to get in a RV and travel the states for several months with my children and husband so that we could be together 24 hours a day. I know you are thinking that would be cheap but I want to be able to eat out 3 meals a day, and use dry cleaning instead of laundry mats and hire someone to clean out the RV at every stop and someone to drive so I can be with hubby.

4. If you were going to join the military, what branch would you join? Or which MOS/rating would you choose? (from And You Never Did Think) Air Force because they treat you better, we have always told our son to go into the Air Force. He says he will never be in the military, it has really left a rotten taste in his mouth

5. What is your favorite thing to make for dinner? (from Armendinger Party of 4)
hmmmmm, Ham and mash potatoes and green beans with lots of gravy

Fill in the blank Friday

1. True happiness is.. being wrapped in your someone's arm who makes you feel safe and secure.
2. The most surreal moment of my life was... was seeing my baby girl for the first time, she weighed 2 pounds 12 ounces and I had no idea what to expect
3. My favorite texture is... smooth like a quilt, I love to lay under a quilt
4. My signature color is... maroon and sage green. I just love the colors together
5. My signature style is... comfy, loose and long. Just so you know it drives me batty that people ask if we are mormon because I were long skirts. Do mormons even wear long skirts.
6. If I could choose one store to spend my life savings at, it would be...this is too hard, if I had someone to help me shop it would be a clothing store. If not it would have to be a kitchen store. I want a new kitchen ade and a wheat grinder
7. My best thing about autumn is... the smell of baking pumpkin, the relaxing breeze that comes through my windows, the peace I feel when I can snuggle up under a blanket.

5 Question Friday

2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be? Please do not laugh, I would love to work at Target or Walmart for a day stocking and facing the shelves. I honestly would be thrilled to be able to straighten all day. You know you walk away from something leaving it look neat

3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little? being alone, not having enough food

4. What do you think is a waste of time? Why? that silly farmtown I have been playing for hours now. laundry is a waste of time, I mean come on it is only going to be dirty again the next day

5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet? my wedding dress, I am seriously good about clearing things out that I do not like anymore or have outgrown. Well, that would be if I outgrew clothes which of course I never do
