Happy Homemaking Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Crazy, high 60’s one day and 30’s the next. It says this week we can get up to the 50’s and down in the 20’s.

Things that make me happy:
My daughter breathing clearly, my girls snuggling with there daddy.

Book I'm reading:
James, we are studying it in small group and this week I have a ton of homework. If you have anything you would like to teach me on the book of James feel free.

What's on my TV today:
I watched Annie with my girls today and WOW I never realized how bad the language was in it.

On the menu for dinner:
Leftover wings for hubby and leftover biscuits and gravy for me.

On my To Do List:
Dinner for 20, and at least 200 cupcakes, and so much more. I wrote about it here.

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
This is so simple. I bought graham cracker crust for .29 cents. I filled it with marshmallows, topped with chocolate chips and baked. We had a yummy indoor smore for desert and everyone loved it.

In the craft basket:
200 cupcakes, past that nothing this week, the kids need to make valentines day cards but that is really it.

Looking forward to this week:
Father/daughter dance, I love seeing him in his dress blue’s. I love watching him with my girls.

Tips and Tricks:
Blog during the super bowl, your husband will think you are being nice to watch it with him and you can work ahead. Honestly this is the only game he watches so I can support him.

My favorite blog post this week:
My week needs help, because it helped me remember everything I need to do this week.

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
Trenches of Mommyhood. I do not know how I found it but it has touched me the last couple of weeks.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

Lesson learned the past few days:
That I need to trust myself more when it comes to my babies and when I think they need to see a DR do not pause but go immediately.

On my mind:
My dear friend Ellie, she was my mom’s friend growing up. She is the one who inspired me to drink sweat tea and learn to sew and cook. She is in the hospital and could use our prayers

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
This week I am studying James. We are studying it in small group on Wednesday nights and it is amazing.

Pray for me Monday

This week one of the ladies we prayed for had a baby and is doing well, another one will hopefully have her baby boy this week.
A friend’s daughter left for basic training this week and another’s son leaves for his first duty station in the marines this week.
Today I have my second ultrasound of my thyroid.
This week my husband is seeing a off post pulmonologist about some issues. Please pray with me that they will find out what is going on.
Praises:
My friend’s daughter had her baby and mom and baby are doing well.
Hope had a asthma attack this week and it was scary, it was even scarier after talking to the doctor about how bad it was. I am so thankful for doctors who knew how to treat her and made her feel special.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
1. This week I am going to be crazy, I talked about it here. 2. I think this is the first time I have ever watched the super bowl. I have seen bits and pieces but never the whole thing.
3. I do have to say the commercials are cracking me up, especially the Doritos ones because I love Doritos.
4. My hero played high school football and could always point him out because he was one of the only players who refused to shave his legs.
5. I really think that Churches should have ATM machines so when I forget cash my children will not cry, they are not happy about putting a check into plate.
6. This week my daughter had her first and hopefully last asthma attack. It brought back some scary painful memories of when Grace had them. She is fine now and the doctor thinks it was probably caused by a cold she had. We will watch her closely and if it happens again we will have her tested for asthma.

Military Monday

Military Mondays Family and Spouse Carnival at Army Wives' Lives

Welcome to Trooppetrie. This blog is about my life, my hopes and dreams. I love to talk about my children, our homeschooling adventures. What new things I have cooked and created and of course our roller coaster ride with the military.
This week I thought I would talk to you about how to make friends at a new station. First, be open. When we first arrived in Germany I had a 8 week old baby boy. Our temporary housing was on the fourth floor and we did not have a car yet. It snowed and snowed and snowed some more and was crazy cold. When we needed groceries we would walk to the comissary and shop. Loading our stroller with as much as it would handle. One day there was a knock on the door. My neighboor who also was still in temporary housing asked if I wanted to go to a bigger post and go shopping. My response was silly, I said can I buy diapers and if so how many. She said I could buy as many as would fit in her car.Off we went. That was fourteen years ago and there is rarely a day that goes by that we do not talk now.
Secondly, get involve. Even if you think you have nothing to offer go to ACS and say I am available how could I help. And most places on post will pay for childcare while you volunteer. Join a PWOC group on post. It is a great way to work on your relationship with Christ plus let you meet other military spouses who have been where you are no matter where you are in your military life.
