5 Question Friday

1. Shoes in the house - yay or nay? No way, I kick them off as soon as my feet hit the door. I cannot stand to walk without shoes outside but cannot stand to walk with shoes inside. But I love socks, fun socks.

2. What do you call them- flip flops, slippers, thongs, etc? flip flops.

3. What song are you almost embarrassed to admit you know all the lyrics to? I got big butts and I cannot lie, you other ……..

4. What is the best quality to have in a friend? Someone who will drop anything at any time and be there to help you. The day my friend Kim brought her baby home from the hospital I called her and said I need you to take Michael. We had lost our baby and I needed to go into the hospital. So her first night home she had my little one year old. That is a friend.

5. Do you know what you want for Christmas? This was my question, you know in case you were wondering. What do I want? Some things I cannot mention. I also want knee boots but will probably never get them. See I have crazy big feet (okay size 11). I bought a pair 2 years ago and LOVED them. Then we moved and they got lost in a hotel room. Actually all but one pair of my shoes disappeared.

1. My plans for this weekend include _cleaning out the garage___, but what I’d really like to do is _to spend the day sewing and playing on my sewing machine__.
2. I consider the Labor Day holiday _a time to enjoy being with my hero and being grateful that he supports our family.
3. My favorite meal for cookouts is __hamburgers with cheese and pickle only_, but my _hero_ wouldn’t agree. He thinks you need steak and chicken and grilled corn.
4. So far, my favorite part of summer has been __the fact that my hero was here, he is not always home during the summer so we tried to make the most of it_.
5. When it comes to deployments, my philosophy is _day by day and when I cannot handle day by day then minute by minute and when I cannot handle that then second by second. And it can only be done with God’s help_.

Fill in the blank Friday

1. One thing that is completely superfluous, but that I could never give up is not a word in my vocabulary and has to be looked up. Okay, the thing that is superfluous in my life is my mountain dew. I keep saying I want to get off the green juice.
2. People staring at me with my blessings makes me feel awkward.

3. I can't go a day without, a hug from my hero, being in his arm brings me peace. .

4. Candy Corn and salted peanuts is my favorite snack.

5. Lately I've been loving my life, feeling at peace about several situations. .

6. If at first you don't succeed then maybe it was not meant to be.
7. Fall is reminds me of pumpkins and all I want to do is bake with pumpkins and take fall pictures.

I am inspired by…the fact that my son asking to do morning devotions this morning. I have been in tears all day thinking about it. He is growing up faster than I realize.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…My hero has a four day weekend. We are cleaning out the garage and straightening some things and might even make it to the beach for a day.

My favorite thing this week was…My son praying for our day.

What’s working/not working for us…we need to find time in our new schedule for real cleaning like mopping and dusting. I feel like I have the basics down but would be happier if I had the real cleaning done.

Questions/thoughts I have…Why is my Hope struggling with reading so much. I feel like she has it some days and other days I feel like we are back to square one. HELP!
Things I’m working on…making sure I do not get tired during the afternoon and stop working. I need to find a way to stay motivated while the little ones are napping.
I’m reading…nothing, but on Tuesday I start a new Bible study called Shepherding a Childs heart.

I’m cooking…cupcakes with nerds in them and nerds frosting. I saw the recipe and could not wait to make it. Sounds great for kids.

I’m grateful for…our men and women who serve our country so that I have the right to homeschool and sing my praise music anywhere I want.

I’m praying for…Ian. It has reminded me of that we need to never take our children’s health for granted. I am praying for his mom who is truly being a witness during this time through her blog.

Seriously Thursday

Seriously, I need to edit my post because earlier in the week I wrote my mother in law was coming in town. A friend is coming in town. I wish my mother in law was coming in town, I miss her and would love to talk to her. She does make great potato candy too but I am sure she I have asked her one too many times to make it. I am excited to see friends this weekend.
Seriously, I realized at 10pm last night that I left a HUGE bag of ice in the floor of the fellowship hall at our church last night. UGG, I feel so bad. Why do I not have a brain?
Seriously, I need to get motivated and get my house clean.
Seriously, I took four kids (not 50) into Wal-mart yesterday and you would have thought I was on show. They were being really good.
Seriously, I love old people. I really, really have a heart for them but they make it very difficult to shop with small children. They love to stop and talk to them and I do not have the heart to say no.
Seriously, Irene, you rock for leaving my house alone. Thanks for bringing enough winds for my kids to play.
Seriously, we have finished our first week of school and it has gone better than I thought.
Seriously, it is hard to come up with things to complain about.
Seriously, how is my water bill $80 when it has ran no more than 50 for the last 18 months.
