Praying

Good evening. I come to you today with a heavy heart. This morning we received word that my father in law had a heart attack. Sadly, and I can not believe I am saying this but he did not make it off the operating table. I just can not believe it. I have so many wonderful things I want to say about this man but right now I just can not think straight. Tomorrow morning we will head to WV.
I have one more prayer request. We are going to have a family member boys come and live with us for a while. I feel blessed that their mother trusts me enough to allow me to help her while she needs it. Please pray for her as she takes the time to take care of some things. Please pray for these boys that will adjust to not being around her. That they will feel the love we have for them.
Please pray for my mother in law as she closes down my father in laws business and continues to raise two children. She is an amazing woman. Pray that I will know how to be there for her and am able to help her.

Praying

James 5:16
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
When I read this verse it hit me in my head. I can see so much intimacy in showing my husband my flaws. Such a hard thing to do.
So how does this have anything to do with military? Today I am asking you how you pray for your spouse. How do you pray for him when he is gone?
I am guarding my words carefully but I want to explain why this is on my mind. My husband is away at a conference right now. They are staying off post in a hotel. Some of the men he is with are frequenting the strip clubs and drinking way more than a drink to relax. Now while my husband is not doing this nor is he being pushed to, I know it must be hard to be around.
I pray for my husband, I pray that he will remain strong in his faith and in doing what he knows to be true and right. I pray that he does not feel like an outsider and has other like minded people around him.
So my question is how do you encourage your husband when he is gone? How does he stay strong?
Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly[a] with your God.

Prayer Request

This morning I come to you and ask for prayers. My friend Melly has a three year old who is in the hospital and has been for a couple of days. They thought it was appendicitis but now they think he got overly dehydrated. Now her 2 year old has a 103 fever and she is not feeling well. She is so tired and has 2 other children who are not showing signs yet. Please pray for them.
My second request is for my friend Linda. I will not begin to explain it all. Her husband may need a liver transplant. He has been sick for a while. My prayer is that there are always test, always trips to the DR and she needs encouragement and strength. My friend Linda cannot drive and this is hard. Please pray for not only her husband but her as she continues to be a wife and mother and homeschool mom. And then she is trying to keep him on a strict diet while maintaining a budget.
My third request is for my husband he has a sleep study tonight and then in 2 weeks has follow up with cardiologist and a pulmo DR. please pray for answers.
Thank you for listening to my heart this morning.

Praying

This is a new blog carnival that I am doing but it is really dear to my heart. The basics are what do you need prayer for?
Prayer is a amazing gift. It is something that cost you nothing but makes such a difference. It is something you can do for someone even without them knowing.
This week I would love it if you would feel comfortable enough to leave your prayer request in the comments section. I will pray for them as I receive them.
This week I have a couple of prayer request. We start a new school semester tomorrow and are changing a few things. Please pray that we will be patient with one another as we do this. We are also adding several wonderful things to our calendar this semester that are not school related but very needed. This means that for the next 8 weeks half the family will be out of the house 3 nights a week. This is new to us but again will bring great blessings to our house.
