Praying

This is a new blog carnival that I am doing but it is really dear to my heart. The basics are what do you need prayer for?
Prayer is a amazing gift. It is something that cost you nothing but makes such a difference. It is something you can do for someone even without them knowing.
This week I would love it if you would feel comfortable enough to leave your prayer request in the comments section. I will pray for them as I receive them.
This week I have a couple of prayer request. We start a new school semester tomorrow and are changing a few things. Please pray that we will be patient with one another as we do this. We are also adding several wonderful things to our calendar this semester that are not school related but very needed. This means that for the next 8 weeks half the family will be out of the house 3 nights a week. This is new to us but again will bring great blessings to our house.

New Year's Eve

This year we had a quiet New Year’s Eve. We let the kids stay up for I think the first time. Even I stayed up which is amazing. I never stay up.
We made homemade pizza. The kids love when we make homemade pizza. I have bought several pizza crust before but in the end it all comes back to the same thing, we prefer our homemade dough. My friend Becky gave me the recipe. It is super simple. It also makes great bread sticks.
1T yeast warm water 3/4 c hot water
2T oil
2T sugar
1/8 t salt
3 cups flour
Mix together and let rise for 15 minutes
Bake at 450 for 3 minutes and then take out and poke 3 holes and decorate (honestly I skip this step)

Bake 7-9 minutes
What a wonderful quick dinner. You can always add your left over chicken or steak from dinner.

Miscellany Monday

What a week, my husband took the week off work. It was nice because we did not have any real plans. He chopped wood a couple of days. He helped me grocery shop.
This week my year old informed me that she has been kissing her wooden bed.
At midnight on New Year’s my five year old informed me if her friend Will was here she would kiss him on the lips.
One day last week I walked into the living room to find my 5 year old laying in front of the fireplace naked (I thought she was still in the bathtub).
What is it with this precious baby girl of mine this week? She is testing us in modesty this week.
This week I kissed my husband with poprocks in my mouth, which was fun.
Tonight I put my kids to bed and then snuck into the oreo’s only to be found out by a child needing to go potty.
Tomorrow I am going to lunch with a friend and I cannot wait to have adult conversation.
This morning my alarm did not go off which meant I slept in until 7:07am and we had to leave the house by 7:4am. Would you believe that my husband and I had showers and got all four kids dressed and everything loaded for church and pulled out of the drive way at 7:48am? I say that is pretty amazing.
Overstock contacted me and is giving all my bloggy friends a discount right now. You can find it here.
I am giving away camera strap cover right here.

Overstock.com

Do you shop on line? Have you ever shopped at Overstock.com? Several years ago I saw an amazing red couch at a friend’s house and could not believe she told me she ordered it from Overstock.com
I was recently contacted by Overstock.com with a wonderful opportunity that I am allowed to share. They are offering a discount:
The discount code is:?121745?, good for 10% off Overstock products (excluding movies, books, and electronics). This discount code never expires, however, it can only be used once per email address.
202234 - free shipping promo code for electronics.

I could look around there site for hours. I love there furniture. But they offer everything from vacuum cleaners to jewelry to water heaters.

Time4learning review

I recently had a wonderful opportunity. It was actually a blessing. A friend had told me about Time4Learning. So we looked into it but I did not want to commit without trying it. I then heard they were offering trial memberships. I still could not figure it out. During this month my friend continued to tell me all her son was learning. I just could not get my act together and sign up.
That was until the day I got an amazing phone call. I received a phone call from Time4learning asking me to do a 30 day review. I jumped on the chance. The only mistake I made was doing it in December. I did not devote enough time for it.
I want to take a minute to tell you about this wonderful program. First you pick a grade your child is in. Then it has subjects for that grade. I love that each thing builds onto the next thing. I love that I can get progress reports telling me what they did and how they did on it. It really works well for children who are mid level. For Hope it was great because if they were reading a story and she did not know a word she could click on it and it would tell her the word. My girls had no idea they were even learning. This is definitely something I would like to continue with my girls. Honestly it helped this month because even when I did not feel like I had time to do a whole school day I felt like they were getting what they needed. If you are interested in learning more about Time4learning please check it out here.
