Homemade poptarts...now that sounds good! Pie crust is tricky for me, but last Thanksgiving my pies turned out great. Maybe, I'm catching on. But, with pie making reserved for once a year makes perfecting the craft difficult. Happy Friday!

The secret to making good pie crust is to have cold ingredients. I use 6 cups of cake and pastry flour sifted with one pkg of crisco and a dash of salt. I mix them together until they look like little peas and then freeze it. I take out approximately 2 cups and mix in about 5 to 6 teaspoons of water and form a ball. Cut the ball in half and roll one half for the bottom crust and the other for the top. The secret is to not work the pastry for too long. Hope this works for you.

I love salad. In the summer, I live on it.
My grandmother made the best pie crust, ever. I used her recipe, and did not get her results. *sigh*
