No Mom talk Monday

No mom talk, I am up early because I had a lot on my mind and thought okay just get out of bed and get started. So I got out of bed and then got on the computer. Real smart, I know.
Today is a busy day and I am looking forward to it. I am icing two sheet cakes I made last night for a promotion ceremony and I am slightly (crazy nervous). But the reason I tell you is because this evening I am going on a date with my husband. We are going to a promotion ceremony and then to dinner.
So today I have to ask, do you date your husband and if so how? Sometimes it is a quick dinner; sometimes it is a trip to the grocery store alone. Sometimes we put the kids (I know no mom talk) in bed early and snuggle on the couch and watch a movie.
It is so easy to make excuses and put our husband last but when I am right with him I am right with the world.
I remember when we had no money after bills and I thought that we would never be alone again. That is when I learned about movie night. You turn the lights down low and set the table with a table cloth, if you do not have one use a flat sheet. The lights are low and no one will know. Put a couple of candles on the table. Even if it is dollar tree candles. Make a dinner, even cooking a frozen pizza. I mean how often do we go out for pizza so what is the difference. Then eat slowly. Talk, talk about goals for the next year or month or 10 years. Sometimes we will do something fun like one of those silly survey’s.

Sleep Apnea

This week for Military Monday I have a question, does your spouse have sleep apnea and if so how does it affect their military life. My husband was just diagnosed. I am curious how this affects deployments and field problems. How does this affect you sleeping with your husband? How quick did your spouse start to feel better?

Miscellany Monday

1. My mom sent us a new George Foreman grill over the weekend. This is our third one. I should so do a review for them because we use them until they are unusable.
2. My boys came home from the mountains yesterday and they smelled horrible but looked so relaxed.
3. My son got a new bed this weekend. So my 6foot 2 boy is now in a queen bed instead of a twin bed.
4. Can someone tell me when my little boy grew into a young man? I just do not get it, I blinked and he became a man with facial hair and able to do anything for me.
5. I am going out on a date tonight but my hero and I plan on taking advantage of it and forcing my tag along to stay at home.

Pray for me Monday

This week I want to first give praise. My boys just returned from a week in the mountains. First they visited family and then the mountains and then more time with family.
They had a great time and came home with beards and smell that could knock over a horse. But they had fun and they built memories that will last a lifetime. It is so important for dad’s to have time with their boys especially in our life when we never know when the orders will come for another deployment.
My prayer request this week is for a precious 4 year old. Her mom is a Chaplain Assistant in our chapel. Dad recently came home early from a deployment because she was having more seizures than normal. She has something called Gary ????. She has been sick for a while. She is currently in the hospital in isolation. She has some form of the flu. Please pray for this family and for this precious baby girl. Her mom is an amazing and such a strong woman. Please pray for this precious baby. I am sure that I am not saying everything and probably saying something wrong but our God knows and is knows what we need.

Thirty-One

Do you ever buy a product because a friend is selling it even if you did not really need it?
My friend recently started selling Thirty One. I had seen it before and thought it was cute. That was until I ordered my first bag from her. I was amazed at the quality and the colors could not be brighter. I love it.
A couple of weeks ago I decided to try their purses. I love that my friend will spend an hour with me going over the same monogram options as she did with my first order.
This time I ordered a purse with a pink cover and a blue jean cover. I just had a –P- put on them. On other things I have had Trooppetrie put on there. Any ideas why I put Trooppetrie? I think what surprised me with the purse is how easily you can change the covers and how much space is inside the purse.
