I was recently given a wonderful opportunity to review a devotional called Daily Devotions for Military Wives. It was written by Jocelyn Green.
At first I thought it was just a devotional book. Then I received it and realized it was a daily devotional book. I have found so much comfort in this book. Every day I think they must have known my story.
One day my devotion was on Contentment.
Philippians 4:11-13 (New International Version)
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Wow, did this hit home. It talked about a couple who left good jobs to join the Army and how he came in as a private and how hard it was to even see other soldiers get promoted. That was our story to a T.
It was just the reminder to be content to be happy where I am at. We have been that specialist with no money. Now as an Officers wife I can look back and understand what that private’s wife is feeling. I try daily to not be thinking about the next promotion but be happy with what we are doing now and what I am being taught now.

This book was a very easy read and fits perfectly in my purse. It is something I can read with my older children and not worry it is too much. It helps me to realize I am not the only military spouse dealing with these things.

I just love this book! I found it even more I really got into blogging but it was such a good idea. (Don't enter me in as I already have the book :))
I love this website! I get their daily fb posts and devotional that they put up written by military wives. It is such an encouragement hearing from other spouses going through the same stuff I am. I am glad you like the book, I will have to read it :)
