Ice Cream Bread

I have said if before and I will say it again. I love Pinterest. So when I saw a recipe for ice cream bread I had to try it.
The recipe is easy.
1 pint any flavor ice cream (I used butter pecan and Reece cup)
1.5 cups self rising flour
Let ice cream set out about 30 minutes to soften. Mix with the flour and bake

So how did it turn out? Well the butter pecan was a little dry but the chocolate was good. Not great but good. It would be something fun to make with the kids.

Fresh Green Beans

Our green beans did not grow well so we are buying green beans to can. So far we have canned 30 pounds. Not nearly enough for our family but a good start.

Hope asked me to take her picture because we were laughing so hard but somehow this is the face in the picture.
It has been fun doing more things together as a family.

Ten Months

This little boy is crawling every where. It happened quick. His crawl is comical because he does not want knees to touch the ground. He loves to play under the table at the farmers market.

At ten months old. (Ouch it hurts to say that) he is a mobile machine. I noticed last night he was walking along the couch. He is getting so big. He will eat just about anything we give him although he loves yogurt. He still sleeps with me and I love it. Okay, I love it but I wish he would give me a night of sleep. Don't tell Jacob but I am going to make him take naps without being in my arms. Really, I am.
What else can I tell you about this precious baby boy. He has a smile that makes you want to give him anything and he loves our pets.

Banana Truffles

I found a recipe on Pinterest for banana bread truffles and all I could think was how I had banana bread in the freezer. Then last week I had a extra loaf of blueberry bread.
They were a huge hit. I will definitly be making these again.

Homemade salsa

It started simply. A neighbor gave us some onions and tomatoes. That's all it took to decide we should try our hand at homemade salsa.
That has now turned into making 40 jars setting in my pantry with plenty more to come. We have used several differerent recipes. But our favorite is
6 tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes
1 onion
1 jalapeƱo
1/4 fresh cilantro
But I encourage you to look at some of the recipes I have on Pinterest. We have made mild and salsa.

Thumbprints with Homemade Jelly

I love thumbprint cookies. You can feel them with anything. I found this recipe on Pinterest. It called for using gummy bears  on the top.
I used my homemade jellies. So for these cookies I used candy apple, blueberry, strawberry-watermelon and peach jelly.
You can find this amazing recipe on Pinterest.

Chicken Treats

I can't risk my babies getting hot so I made them a snack of homemade yogurt and frozen strawberry scraps. They loved it. The kids are not fond of the yogurt but enjoy it in smoothies.

Providing Shade

Baby brother has learned to crawl. Which means that he now crawls around at the farmers market. Grace decided that he needed shade so she crawled over him.

Rained Out-Farmers Market

Do you see what I see? Yep, a fly. A stinking  fly. Here I am setting in my car with a good book and no children enjoying the rain. It would be perfect. Seriously I have not had time to just set in ..... I can't remember how long. I could even nap. Except there is this little fly who is bugging me. Actually I bet there are 20 in here.
Oh why am I setting in the car in the rain at 7am. Because today is farmers market day and the other vendor assured me they would set up to. They are all here setting in there cars too.
How is the farmers market going? Well today I have sold nothing. Any guesses why?
Seriously, I am really enjoying it. I enjoy the other vendors. I really enjoy setting in the kitchen while my husband makes jellies and pickles and salsa. It gives us time to talk. I enjoy having my girls work the farmer market with me.
This week we worked at a assisted living home. It was amazing. I love elderly people. I love seeing there soft skin and listening to there stories and answering there questions. I loved watching my teen son talk to them and try to decide if what they were saying made since or not. It went really well and we have already been asked to come back.
The farmers market is a lot of work but we are learning how to make it happen. And in the process we are working on our relationship together.

Grape Jelly

We are learning to can. It is a slow process. I saw a recipe for grape jelly and knew I had to try it. Of course I found the idea on Pinterest. I love Pinterest and am really trying to make more of what I pin.
Sadly, the one I made it for says he will not taste it. What he does not know is I already combined my grape jelly with his store bought jelly. Once he has eaten a few jars I will tell him what we have done.

Music and Skirts

I need to get this girl into music lessons. She loves playing on her daddy's guitar.

I also love this skirt on her. She has wanted a new blue jean skirt for a long time but we could not find one. So I bought a size 3 woman's skirt and cut the top off. She loves it.i think I will look for some more skirts for her like this.

Throw Back Thursday

Throw back Thursday. My baby boy has grown up so much. I can't get over it. His daddy now looks up to him. I am learning to take each day and enjoy it.
I am learning to enjoy the young man he has become and to be encouraging to him. I am learning to let him think for himself. I think that is the hardest thing.

His First Coffee

One day he is being given a bubble bath while being fed ice cream. The next moment he is given a hot cup of coffee to drink. I am telling you at 9 months this boy has the life.
