Hope
Hope cracks me up, she is always coming up with something. Anything she does, she does with heart. How she lifted the upper bunk I will never know. So let me explain some of this stuff hanging. The paper with the heart is a TV, then there is the hannah montana guitar for music and the green hat is where she puts two little porcelain dolls to swing them. i can not remember the rest. this is a string of belts and pieces of rope and wallets you hang from your neck. She also has 3 cans of soda, one for her, one for me and one for her daddy. Normally I would not allow this but she has put so much work into her area. She has hung family pictures up. Her bed has definitly turned into her own little space and for now I will let her enjoy it.
pool
Last tuesday we went to the pool as a family. Rob set on the side of the pool and played with his new fish finder. he set on the side of the baby pool and watched Grace. unfortunitly for the first time in probably 10 years we got sunburns, some of us much worse than others. I am normally overly protective. Two other families joined us at the pool and the kids really enjoyed playing with them. We all came home hot and tired which is the best way. we then spent the next several days staying out of the sun with lots of aloe, we will go back to the pool today in hopes of better outcomes.

family time, rob update
I am not doing a not me Monday because I want to list all reasons I have not been blogging. Where have we been, we have been laughing and playing games and cleaning out the garage, killing our tomatoes, laughing some more. there has been lots of fishing for rob and michael. we have even got school work done on most day. rob is healing well. he is hoping to be released from the surgeon tomorrow afternoon. this video is grace laughing, i love the sound of her laughing. you need to scroll down and pause my music first.
i have to say this has been a wonderful month and a hard month. i appriciate all the prayers and phone calls. we have really enjoyed spending time together. it has been nice getting to enjoy each other with no real time restraints. there has been plenty of time for things like sprinklers and going to the pool and going bowling and bike riding and going on long walks and feeding the ducks and other family things that we have not done in years together.

Swimming lessons and Rob update
Yesturday was the first day of swimming lessons and the girls loved it. They have great instructors. Faith can already swim under water but can not swim above water. It is hard because I know Rob could teach them in a couple of days. Hopefully he will be allowed back in the water in a couple of days. He goes back to the surgeon tomorrow. His stomach is completly closed, although it does not look like it. His leg is almost there. Packing his leg is quick and painless. The nurse still comes every morning to check on him and make sure he is not getting another infection. So for now he is Grace's best friend and sets on the side of the baby pool with her. Today friends are meeting us after lessons to play in the pool.
Faiths bday
My baby girl. Faith turned 9 today. Faith is such a special girl. I wanted to tell you a little about her pregnancy. At 6 weeks they told me she was not viable and I should have a D&C. I said NO, for 2 weeks I would go in for blood work and for two weeks they would tell me she was not growing and this was not a viable pregnancy. Finally one day her numbers doubled and we were okay. We found out we were pregnant when we were still living in Germany. At 20 weeks I went in for the ultrasound everyone looks forward to, the one that says if you are having a boy or a girl. I found out it was a girl and could not be more thrilled. But that afternoon I got the phone call. Rob was in the field and they called and said there was something wrong with your cord and you would not survive to 28 weeks. I will never forget that day. I will tell you more about that day later. They sent us to vandy for a special ultrasound and tried to convince us to have a amnio. I said NO. we were told you would be born, that as soon as you stopped growing they would deliver you. So for the next 15 weeks I went to the dr twice a week for ultrasounds and non stress test. They said you would probably be born with one kidney and with downs. On June 21, 2000 you were born. I went to the DR that morning and they said you had stopped growing and it was time. You were born weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces. They questioned rather we had the right due date because you were so large for a 35 week. We just laughed because we knew your growth came from God. I will never forget taking you in for a ultra sound to make sure you had both of your kidneys.
Today you are a happy healthy girl. Faith loves to sing and dance and play dress up and lives for the day when she has her own room. You love American Heritage Girls and Awanas. You are taking hula dancing right now and loving it.
We had a simple birthday; we invited friends over for pizza. Honestly she could have cared less, all she knew was there was a box in the shape of a American Girl doll that she had been waiting for. After we ate and opened gifts the adults played uno attacko and the girls played dress up clothes.
On fathers day, which is Faiths actually birthday she served her daddy breakfast in bed. It was a wonderful breakfast of special K cereal and a diet Pepsi. Then she helped dad cook steaks for lunch and then iced cup cakes to take to choir to celebrate her birthday.

Day 18
Today was a great day, our favorite nurse was here bright and early and with the supplies we needed. Rob took the older three fishing. The picture of Hope is right before Rob told her she could NOT kiss the fish. Grace and I went swimming, she had so much fun when she realized she can not stand in this pool. She kept saying "i am a big girl". Then we came home and the girls and I took naps while Rob and Michael went fishing again. This evening Faith made her cake.
Rob is feeling great, unless it is dressing change it is really hard to know there is something wrong with him. I am in constantly amazed at how well he is healing.
Faith cooking
I asked Faith what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. Her options were 1. I could buy one 2. I could make one or 3. she could make it herself. She got so excited to make it herself. So I set out all the ingredients for her and let her make the same chocolate cake I made last weekend. She even made the frosting from scratch, she made green icing for the chocolate cake and I made blue icing for the white cup cakes. She will ice the cakes in the morning. She is so excited and I am sure we will find food coloring all week
