1. What are your talents? I organize and organize and love to organize. I love to take care of babies.
2. What is your best habit? I tell my children I love them daily.
3. If you had to be stuck with someone in an elevator for 8 hours, who would you want it to be? My son, he is growing up so fast. I need time to just be with him without video games.
4. Share one odd fact about you that we’d never know to ask. I have keloid scars. So when you get a scratch it heals and is gone. When I get a scratch there is a good chance that it is going to leave a raised scar
5. What’s your latest project (work, home, whatever you care to share)? I am determined to get my daughters room in some type of order. While it does not normally look this bad it is hard to decorate. This is a Monday morning after not cleaning up on Sunday. It still has the border from when it was Michael’s room. I do not like the layout. It is a good size room but with 3 little girls it needs some real help. But it needs to be help that can be moved in a couple of years.
6. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be? Hmm, I would like to go back to the weight I was 10 years ago.
7. What do you do in your spare time? What is spare time, I sleep, I blog.
8. What is your biggest pet peeve? People correcting me about silly things. It seems like recently everyone has a way of telling me how to do things better. I can take helpful hints but it seems like daily I am getting advice.
9. Why do you blog? It is a way express myself, to get things off my chance. It is my personal online scrapbook and journal.
10. Are you tidy or messy? I want to be tidy and several times a day my house is tidy. But you know as soon as someone knocks on the door the house looks like it has not been clean in days. Really my goal is tidy and not clean. I can straighten up in a couple of hours.
11. What’s the last song that played on your iPod? Be glorified by Ron Kenoly
12. Do you cook? If so, what’s for dinner tonight? I love to cook, I am making chicken fried steak. I have not made it for years.

13. Do you like sports? If so, list your teams. We do not like sports. My husband likes to play all sports but he does not like to watch it.
14. How often do you read and/or watch the news? I watch the first couple of minutes of the Today show while the kids are waking up.
15. Did you stick to your new Year’s resolution this year? I stopped making them because I do not want the stress of not keeping them
16. What are you looking forward to most in the remainder of 2011? Our family retreat to Myrtle Beach
17. Shoes, sunglasses or handbags? I have to have them all. Seriously I wear sunglasses even when it is raining.
18. How do you feel about sleeping on satin sheets? The cooler the better. I love to be cold when I sleep
19. Do you sing in the shower? If I have my Ipod going, if not I am thinking of everything else. I swear I need a water proof notebook in there.

FMM: Girly Questions
1. Do you like to shop? For my kids oh yes, for other people even more so. For myself, no way. I feel guilt. I feel like I cannot find one thing that looks right. I cannot figure out how I really want my home decorated. I have always said please turn me in to what not to wear or any home improvement show.
2. How often do you wear makeup? I gave it up years ago. I tried to start again last year but it only lasted a couple of days. I wish I was better about it. The older I get the more I need it.
3. How do you feel about nail polish? Love it on my girls. I love brighter fun colors for my toes but for my fingers it is French tip every time.
4. Do you consider yourself to be a feminist? I am probably the least feminist person you know. I think women should be able to make their own choices but I also think most of my decisions and all my major decisions are ran through my hero.
5. What’s your biggest challenge as a woman? Second guessing myself, feeling like I have made someone mad. I am reading a book called So Long Insecurities and it has really made me think about how I think.
6. Do you wear skirts and dresses? Skirts, I cannot tell you how long it has been since I wore a dress.
7. How do you feel about high heels? I think they are beautiful on other women but for me a small heel is all I can manage.
8. Do you subscribe to magazines? If so, which ones? Yes, but not your traditional magazines. I receive no greater joy and above rubies.
9. Do you shave your legs/wax/ use depilatory creams or go au natural? I shave or at least I say I do. It is one of those things I forget to do unless I am going to the DR.
10. What do you like most about being a woman? That my husband looks at me, that I am made to be with my husband. That my body makes beautiful blessings to hug and snuggle with.

1) What is your favorite movie? Fireproof because it is amazing. Titanic and Practical Magic but not because of the movie but because of the music.

2) If you could trade lives with an actor or actress for one day, who would you choose? And why? Michelle Dougger because I honestly love the thought of having that many kids. I know she is not a actress but there is not many I look up to.

3) Who is your favorite actor/actress? Julia Roberts, it has nothing to with her acting and all to do with her hair. I would love pretty woman hair.

Man I did not answer these questions well. I am so weird. This is who I could pick out of a line up. Patrick Swayze, Whoopie Goldburg, Julia Roberts, Reba McIntire, Roseanne, and Chuck Norris. I honestly could not even tell you which movies I have seen. It drives my husband batty because I am always asking if I have seen this movie or that.

Did you watch the Super Bowl?
I did for the first time. I have had in on before but never really watched it. So what did I think, the game was good. A few of the commercials were good. But overall I was saddened. Sad that she did not know the words to the National Anthem. Sad that they showed football players who did not take a moment to pause for there country or put there hand over there heart. I understand the excitement but I do wish they had taken a moment to listen to the words of this song.

A Short Survey

1) What is your favorite household chore? And what is your least favorite?
Is cooking for your family a chore because if so then that would be my favorite chore. I also love cleaning out closets and organizing things. Deep cleaning is my least favorite. I hate cleaning floors because I know that 5 minutes later a animal or a child is going to mess it up again.

2) What is your favorite city?
I have not been to a ton of places but I would say I loved Williamsburg. We went 2 years ago and it was amazing. It was wonderful because my family stayed together the whole time. Everything was age appropriate for my family.

3) Have you found real love yet? I have and sometimes I do not remind myself of it. I spent many years of my marriage wondering why this man would love me and not allowing myself to fall in love with him.

4) What's one thing you eat almost every day?
Sugar very sadly. Honestly I do not eat something daily but I do drink mountain dew daily. I think I should change my profile picture to a picture of a can of mountain dew because that is really what I am full of.

5) What was your last thought before falling asleep last night?
Why does my body shake when I relax enough to fall asleep, I use to think only I noticed it but my hero then informed me it shakes the bed. It is just one full body shake (okay sometimes twice) and then I am done.

6) What's the worst injury you had as a child?
When I was 17 I was on a school field trip and was in a van accident. I broke my collar bone, had to have fake skin put on one shoulder. Destroyed my left elbow and banged up my knee and back.

7) Will you/have you worked out today?
No, it has months since I worked out and even that was just walking around our subdivision.

8) Do you tweet? If so, what's your name?
Yes, I love it. Except the other night I was up at 2:30 am and entered a give away and tweeted about it. Forgetting that my husband get’s my tweets on his phone. From our bedroom I heard the familiar chirp chirp and felt bad. He slept through it. @trooppetrie

9) List three things you wouldn't want to live without:
My family, My Iphone and my pictures. Pictures mean everything to me. I have very few pictures of me growing up and I think I keep that in mind as I take triple the amount of pictures I need to.
10) Hold old were you when you had your first kiss?
It is crazy when I think about it now. At 13 I dated a 19 year old senior and went to his senior prom. When I think about my 14 year old son that thought sounds crazy.

New Year's Eve

This year we had a quiet New Year’s Eve. We let the kids stay up for I think the first time. Even I stayed up which is amazing. I never stay up.
We made homemade pizza. The kids love when we make homemade pizza. I have bought several pizza crust before but in the end it all comes back to the same thing, we prefer our homemade dough. My friend Becky gave me the recipe. It is super simple. It also makes great bread sticks.
1T yeast warm water 3/4 c hot water
2T oil
2T sugar
1/8 t salt
3 cups flour
Mix together and let rise for 15 minutes
Bake at 450 for 3 minutes and then take out and poke 3 holes and decorate (honestly I skip this step)

Bake 7-9 minutes
What a wonderful quick dinner. You can always add your left over chicken or steak from dinner.

What am I looking forward to this month? That is so very simple. Half days, starting the 16th my husband will only work half days. It means he is home early every night and we have more time to spend together. It means staying up late to watch Christmas movies. Then he will take off the week between Christmas and New Years. We have no real plans. We may go home for a coupld of days but we will see.

My favorite Holiday is probably Easter, it gives me a chance to talk to the kids about what Jesus did for us. As they get over I let them watch The Passion. I love how we all get a little more dressed up for church and take pictures. I love how I know that soon after Easter the sunshine will come back out and it will soon be spring. I love how I take a minute to remember how I got to where I am.

What I like about Fall...
The smells of baking now that I am not worried about heating up the house. The smell as pumpking as I cook it and freeze it. The cool air where it feels good to take long walks. The colors, I mean they are so relaxing. The first fall fire in the fireplace. We (well they have) been stacking wood for the last couple of months and everyone is looking forward to a fire.

1) What was the most enjoyable part of your weekend? finishing up my quilt with my husband, him asking me to put it on my bed because we made it together. This man has my heart and he knows it
2) List two or three material possessions that you can't live without: this is hard because I get rid of everything. I would say my pictures of our son that was a stillborn, my scrapbooks because I want my children to have pictures of themselves growing up
3) Which day are you looking forward to most in the coming week? maybe Friday because we are going to a new zoo, although I am not looking forward to this week because it is the last week my hero is on vacation. I can not believe he has been home for a month
4) Share one of your most embarrassing stories... this is a bad question, when we lived in Germany I would trim my hair every few months. One day I was at a awards ceremony, I walked up to the stage and recieved my award and went back to my table. A friend said "you cut out your hair". Appearantly one side was about 4 inches longer than the other. I have not cut my own hair since

I like: to try out new things and carnivals on my blog
I don't like: when I am hateful to my husband or my children, they do not deserve my attitude
I dream of: fleas last night, as in bug bites all over me although it has been years since I have been bitten by a flea
I wonder: if I will ever get my act together and put God first in my life the way I know I should
I know: That I serve a risen saviour who is patient with me and there for me even when I neglect him
I went: to Polland to buy Polish pottery way more than I needed to
I have: a amazing husband who is a amazing father to our children
I think: I am the luckiest person in the world and sometimes forget that and forget to be grateful for it
