10 minute warning

The movers should be here in 10 minutes? Ask me if I am ready. Nope not mentally or physically ready. So much still to do. It just does not seem real that soon strange men will be in every room of my house packing. I hope I remembered to pull out everything I need.

Bed Risers and Wonder Hangers

Today has been a good day and I felt great until about 20 minutes ago when my back started burning but that will go away soon and I can get back to work. The dishwasher has been ran, the washing machine has been used. I feel like we are home. I got about 15 boxes of books out of the living room put away on the bookshelves. I did not realize how many books we have. The house looks like it is a wreck but I can see it coming together. I have a couple boxes in the living room that need to go to the office and then I can hang up pictures and put down our new rug. I did get the younger girls room done today and got all the clothes away, well except for the box I found in the living room. I got all the wardrobe boxes put away in our room. Have you seen the hanger extenders. They really work. Now the bed risers we got for Faith’s bed are another story. My goal is to try and get most of my room done tonight. Rob and Michael went out and chopped wood. Michael was not thrilled but did it. Honestly, I was really worried about the move and how it would affect him but he has done really well

the unpacking begins

The movers arrived a little after 8am. I think there were 5 guys all together. They were done before 2 and that is even with putting together the kitchen table, china cabinet (although I do not have china) and all the beds and the computer desk. They were supper nice. They did not use foul language or try to smoke which makes my year. I did hear a conversation that included taking a shower twice a day and still having a smell. They brought 99% of everything through the garage which means I set in the garage for HOURS freezing. My feet were numb. Rob left for a little while to go to the leasing agency to turn in the list of things we found wrong with the house.
I got 80% of the kitchen and living room unpacked. We even cooked our first meal. We grilled steaks and baked potatoes in the microwave. It was so nice to sleep in my bed. Faith made it through sleeping in her own room for the first time in 7 years. I thought she would at least want a night light but nope she said I have my teddy.
It looks like everything got here in one piece except we are missing the 2 shelves for our entertainment stand. We have the brackets that hold them in but no shelves. I would not be too worried except the DISH guy will be here in the next couple of hours and it would be nice to have those shelves. Can I just say I am so looking forward to going into my room, shutting the door, turning on the TV and taking a nap this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Our only plans are to unpack and maybe try out a church tomorrow morning. Rob would like to go chop some wood today. I am perfectly okay with that. I have enjoyed the fire place going constantly (well except at night because I am scared).

Am I awake, is this thing on?

Am i really here, have i really moved hours away from my friends from Graces doctors from a home school group i love. am i really living in a hotel until we can move into our house. am i really moving into a neighborhood where i know no one and have to start all over. i just wonder if this is really my life. last night i dreamed that rob accidently hit someone and they died and he was put in jail for the rest of his life. it was such a real dream i had to tell his mom and decide how i was going to live. the dream felt so real. so much more real than how i feel right now as i set in a dark hotel room. everyone is in one room while Grace and i nap in the other room. it just does not feel weird. there were moments of the last couple of weeks that felt real like pulling out of Will's driveway and crying, like telling Michelle to keep praying openly. but even as they loaded my stuff into the semi i wondered is this really real. my couch was still there i was still watching the same TV yet all around me things were being removed from my home. as we drove around post and i saw motor pool after motor pool i thought WOW we are back in the real army. I did not really see motor pools on Redstone. It just seems like a fake world and i need to wake up and embrace it. I guess that starts tonight. I have a friend that i have been friends with since Germany. It is a neat story we both were living in temporary housing on the fourth floor and she knocked on my door and said hey I am going grocery shopping want to go. our car had not arrived and let me tell you walking to the store with a 8 week old was not fun. we have been friends since. she moved her after Germany (and then to Hawaii and then back here) and we moved to Campbell and then Redstone and now here. I saw her a couple of years ago. I was so nervous, I started walking 2 months before she got here and had lost 30 pounds. it is so funny what I worry about. we had a great visit. then I stopped walking and have gained probably another 50+pounds since then. Why does this worry me so much why have I avoided her. because I guess there are things that I can hide. my friends do not notice my weight because they have always seen me this way. but I guess seeing her tonight is like a wakeup call, she has not seen me this way. maybe this will be my wake up call. please know this is about me and not her. I do not know why I put this on myself. things just seem so weird right now. parts of it is nice. like my husband and i are together constantly in one big room with the kids which means lots of child training is going on. the kids are learning to be quieter, i am definitely learning to be quieter. I hope we keep this in the new house. i wonder when i will feel like i am back to my life. will it be when i have my own furniture, when I take grace to the doctor for the first time, when we go to a new church. who knows but for now nothing feels real. I think I am just nervous we have been told that by April 1 rob will be back in Iraq so i guess if it is not real he will not go away again. can i really do another deployment in another town alone. maybe when i get to see the real fort Bragg i will feel better because as much as we have driven around there has not been allot of a welcoming feeling. there is allot of small areas of housing, old buildings, old closed down stores but not allot of living that i see.

wednesday house hunting

Today was a good day. I think the moving has caught up with a couple of our kids. We drove around looking at houses most of the day. We found a couple that look like they would work. We are calling back tomorrow. We had to switch hotel rooms this afternoon because well the last hotel room bathroom could not handle my family of 6. The bad news is we are on the second floor and not technically in a pet friendly room so they asked that we try not to walk the dog through the lobby. The good news is we are much closer to the pool. Step out of my room and there is the elevator, step off the elevator and there is the pool. So that helps me. Ooh did I say we found out there is a heated pool. Rob took three of our kids after a trip to target for swimsuits this evening. I stayed in the room with one of our blessings who was having some attitude issues. Honestly I did not mind because I do not enjoy swimming. This will be a great way to let them burn energy a couple of times a day.
Tomorrow morning we hope to look at another house if they call us. If not then we will fill out a application for one of the houses we looked at today. We would like to go to the PX on post to just look around. I still need to do laundry so we do not get caught up. This is the house we are looking at and this is the inside, if the link works.http://www.americanrentals.biz/details.php?id=1&property_id=13682
Please pray that we can make the correct house and get settled.

we have moved into a hotel

I had this wonderful LONG post about the last several days and what has happened and then well it got lost. my wonderful husband bought me a new laptop and I am not use to using it. so I am just going to state some facts
1. Wed-Friday movers were at my house
2. Friday I saw a semi drive away with all my stuff
3. Saturday my husband was trying to fill in some holes in the backyard and got his truck stuff, scroll down to read what I wrote
4. Sunday faith fell in the garage and we thought for sure she had broke her arm, still sore but okay
5. Sunday I said good bye to baby will and cried like a fool when I left
6. Sunday I accidently drove past the pound and it hit me that just 5 days earlier we had dropped off our dog of 10 years, I even saw dogs outside and lost it. Luckily I was on the phone with my mom and she convinced me to not drive back and see if he was outside, although I do wonder if he barks when I drive by my house did he recognize my van and get sad.
7. Sunday night we went to a friend’s house so rob could watch the super bowl party and I could do laundry and we ate a Andes mint cake, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I cried all the way home because I think my friend and I have more in common than most people know
8. Monday morning we woke up to snow, not a lot and I was glad because it covered up DH’s tire tracks in the backyard.
9. Monday morning we had our final inspection with the house and I had to leave the room twice to avoid arguing with housing, in the end we are being charged $30 which is okay and honest they could have charged us more
10. Monday we drove 5 hours to some place in GA and spent the night and ate at pizza hut, I did not sleep well and am overly tired
11. Today we drove through rain to South Carolina and then into north Carolina and made it to fort Bragg
12. We looked at military housing and while it is pretty it is way too small for us. Then we looked at another house that was big enough but really outdated
13. We found out from friends that we were looking in the bad section of town for houses and we are in the worse possible location for a hotel.
14. Speaking of hotels, while it is not a holiday inn they have been super nice to us and the room is HUGE, you walk into a normal 2 bed hotel room and then there is a fridge, microwave, stove with oven and sink. Then there is a second room with a TV, tables and fold out couch.
15. We picked up lunch at Wendy’s using gift cards from the girls AHG friends. Stopped at Wal-Mart and bought a few groceries for the next couple of days
16. Now it is 9:23 and I am trying not to pull my hair out while I get the kids to calm down and go to sleep
17. I have a whole post on hotel showers and chicken trucks and my new laptop and house hunting and how proud I am that I did not read one text message while driving. I have never texted and drove or read messages but I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO tempted today when I heard my phone beeping and I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bored of driving
18. Please continue to pray for us as we find a house and get settled and unpacked.
19. Ooh yeah transportation called and said our stuff is here and it weighed 19 thousand pounds, I am beyond scared of how much this move is going to cost us because we are only allowed 12,500. YIKES.
20. Okay I am going to bed

How did you drive the truck through the fence

Housing will be here in about 39 hours and so we are steadily cleaning and getting the house ready. One of the things we needed to do was to fill in the holes in the backyard. Let me start by saying that Grace has not napped in 3 days and was a brat interesting. so today I layed down with her. Just as we were falling asleep Hope came runnin in saying daddy broke the fence. I said it is okay go away. She then said "MOMMY DADDY DROVE THE TRUCK THROUGH THE FENCE". So I looked outside and saw this.I did not run out there because I was scarred of what happened. A few minutes later the man with my husband came in to get the boys to help push the truck. This is the picture I saw next. The truth of the story is that I encouraged Rob to drive the truck into the back yard the other day. Well it has been raining for days. He got the truck stuck and then tried to turn it around and got it stuck. I am so glad our friend Al was here to help. They decided taking the fence down would be easier and safer. When all was said and done Al had dirt all over him and in his pockets and my carpet had red clay shoes marks all over it, thanks to 3 brainless 13 year olds. All is back together and the carpet is no worse than before considering they are replacing it when we move.Okay, I guess I need to get back to work. I wonder what else I can blog about so I do not have to help with the cleaning.

moving day 1

At 8:30am the mover arrived. That is right I said mover not movers. The boss said that the other movers would be here at noon. He left the boxers and the one mover and left. At noon no one showed up, at 1pm no one, at 2pm no one so I called and they said 2 more guys were on their way. At 3:15pm one other guy showed up and by 4:57 the kids bedrooms and the office, part of my my room and part of the kitchen was done. Honest the young man they left here this morning did all the work except the kitchen. They said they would be back tomorrow morning with 4 packers.
This evening I went to dinner with 2 friends, I wish we would have taken a picture. It was so much fun to be able to set and relax and talk. The food was AMAZING. I brought home leftovers for Rob for lunch tomorrow. The girls spent the afternoon with a friend which was great for us. they are doing better than I thought they would with the move. I cannot believe how well they handled seeing their stuff packed up.

moving

Today is the day, in the next few hours there will be a knock at the door and a swarm of people will walk into my house and take over. Can I just say I hate knowing that people are going through my drawers and closets but I am glad I am not the one packing it all up. Yesterday we took the animals to the vet and got there shots. I was worried they would not give them shots because it was too early but I did not want to have to do it as soon as we move. Rob then took Blue to the pound. He is not coping well with it and I feel really bad. We tried several things. We put a add on petfinder but the only reply we got was from someone who lived in the U.K.. seemed a little sketchy to me.
The house is as ready as it can be. I will do one final walk through when the kids wake up. I have a friend who is going to keep the girls for several hours today and another friend is keeping them tomorrow. That will really help during the packing. I am sure the packers will be happy to not have so many helping hands.
Prayer request: that we would find peace about taking our dog to the pound after 10 years. That we would be able to find a home quickly, that we would be able to clear housing on Monday with no drama

5 days until the movers arrive

5 days until the movers knock on the door. First my e-mail has changed. It is now pam.petrie@us.army.mil Today I said good bye to the little girl I babysitt. I kept her big sister from the first day her mom went back to work until the day before my water broke with Grace. Now I have had the pleasure of keeping her baby sister. I love these girls but for some reason this little girl has really touched my heart. Why is it so much harder to say good bye to kids. I guess because I know a year from now she will not remember me. I love the way when she sees my kids she gets excited and yells there name. On Monday at 1pm the housing office does a pre inspection to tell us wha else we need to do to clean housing. Then at 2pm the movers come to do a walk through to decide how many movers will come and what size boxes they come. Have I told you they even put our mattreses in boxes. Yesturday we hit the house hard. Rob and I spent probably 6 hours cleaning the kitchen. I need to finish doing dishes. No I did not have 6 hours of dishes but someone (no one is admitting it) turned the hot water heater down for the thousand fifth time. So I had no hot water. We got the inside of the windows cleaned, the floors done, moved furniture and cleaned under it, took everything off the walls and rob put a fresh coat of stain on the table. Went through the cabinets and organized them and got rid of anything that was open we knew we would not use. We poured the rock salt on the sidewalk because it was ice raining. I do not know if it worked but the side walk was not slick. We even took the computer apart and packed up our Bob Jones hard drive.
I cleaned up and re organized all the school books in the livingroom. Re straighted up the livingroom a hundred times, took Christmas pictures off the wall. It you send me a Christmas picture it is likely that it has hung on my wall for the last year, I love looking at them. Rob vacummed under the furniture. I got all the laundry folded and put away (except hanging stuff). I want to finish up laundry today and take our laundry sorter apart.
I cleaned up my room. Put away all my laundry, went through my dresser and pulled out 2 trash bags of stuff. I even decided to get rid of my nursing bras. The only thing left today is for Rob needs to clean off his dressers. Yes, he has 2 dressers and I have one. The kids got there rooms cleaned even under the beds.
Rob spent 6 hours cleaning out the garage on Thursday.
Today my goal is to clean my bathroom, you know like organize the hairbows and bandaids. Rob is going to work on really cleaning bathrooms and the office. I also want to go through the girls pajama drawers. I do not know why we have 4 pajama drawers when they wear daddy shirts 99% of the time. Okay I guess I better get to work if I want to be done.

moving

Monday
I know I have not updated in a few days. We have gotten some done. When I list it out it helps motivate me. Thursday night I went to dinner with a friend. Friday night we went to a friends house for dinner. We had a great time, I just wish we could have stayed and talked all night. Then Saturday I went to the scrapbook store. Saturday night Rob and I went out to see Sherlock Holmes. We did get behind the stove cleaned and the sides of the stove. The baseboards and kitchen floor done. I got all my bookshelves in the living room cleaned off. I can not believe I found a trash bag of trash on them. I also cleaned out under our entertainment stand. I need to have a child dust it today. Today my goals are to keep up with school and maybe clean out the girls clothing shelves that are in the hallway. Michael has a appointment this morning and this afternoon Grace has appointment with her beloved Dr. Mahesh. I will try not to cry. This will probably be the last time we see our friend Will (and his mom). Will was Grace's NICU buddy. I am sure I will loose it the minute we get in the car. This is also the last day I will be keeping my friends daughter Evie. I kept Evie from birth until the day before my water broke with Grace. I love that little girl. I think of all the emotional tonight will be the hardest. Tonight is my last mom's night out but it is also my going away party. These ladies have meant the world to me and have been there for me more times than I wish I needed. I kinda feel bad because most of them eat healthy and they are having fried chicken and mash potatoes for me. So sweat of them. Okay if I want to get anything done I better get going. 3 weeks from today we will clear housing and be on our way to a new place

Moving

Today was a good day. We all know how the morning started and if you do not please read the previous post. Today we did not get allot done or at least it looks that way. I did wrap up $80 worth of change and take it to the bank. I also closed our bank account that is here. I went to hobby lobby today and spent close to a hour walking around the store crying. I went to pick up scrapbooks for Faith and her friend Grace so they could make them before we move. Then I saw something that reminded me of my friend Janet and I lost it. It is so weird I normally do not have a hard time leaving but when I think about leaving Janet it kills me. The thing is Janet and I do not talk every day. She does not know my deepest secrets and fears, well maybe some of them. You see Janet and I love to organize things and work well together. She has been there for me more times than I can remember or list. When my water broke with my daughter at 26 weeks she set up a schedule so that I would not go days without visitors or have too many in one day. Then when my daughter was back in the hospital she visited almost daily and then she arranged meals. Even more than that several months ago we had a scary thing happen in our personal life. I left our co op very upset (it had nothing to do with our co op) and came home. Within minutes my phone was ringing and she said she was in my drive way. She left her class to come and be here for me. This lady does not say life is over or you are a bad wife or bad mother. She tells me what is in the scripture, she tells me what she thinks I need to hear. I have heard many people make compliments to her about how much they appreciate her over the last couple of years but I do not think there is any way she will ever know how much we mean it. So in case you have not heard me say it before please here me say that there is no way I could have survived the last 5 years without my friend Janet.
We did get the laundry room started. We need to clean under the washer and dryer tomorrow and get laundry caught up. My goal tomorrow is to make hotel reservations, get caught up on laundry and then I am meeting a friend for dinner.
Housing from Fort Bragg called today and wanted us to accept a house right now. We said no because we could not see it. The house they are offering is a brand new duplex. They are pretty, I just do not know if they have the space we need

Moving

If there was ever a day I wish I would have taken pictures it would have been today. Rob stayed home with us most of the day. We went in the girls room and told each of them to pick 8 stuffed animals to give away. Before I knew it they were filling trashbags. By the end we had 5 big black trashbags full. A friend came by and took them all to the thrift store to donate for us. After a while my will not get rid of anything husband said we are past 8 each. I shooshed (is that a word) him and they kept going. If they chose one I did not like then I would say okay pick this or that. When they were done with there stuffed animals Hope said Okay time to do baby dolls. So we went through baby dolls. Then I went through there closet and got rid of some. Then I went through Grace's shoes and her closet. Then I cleaned out her dresser. Can someone explain how I have 3 sets of girl twin newborn outfits. When we were done in there room I moved to the kitchen. I went through each cabinet. I even chose to get rid of a few polish pottery pieces I never use. I had 2 junk drawers to go through in the kitchen. I went through cookbooks, laughing that I had duplicates. Then I cleaned up the art cabinet and took care of the things that had been thrown on top of the fridge. Rob wiped off the top and sides of the microwave. Then I went into the livingroom and cleaned out the coffee table. Then I went in the office and straightened up my art cabinet. It seems like we did more. I cleaned up the kitchen while Rob ran to Home Depot. He was getting the stuff to fix the girls bed. We even got school done today. I love when we can get things done.
Rob went to transportation and they said paperwork has been done and can not be changed so we are staying here until FebuaryI just have to post these two pictures. This house came with a fridge, so we keep ours in the garage and Rob uses it for bait (yuck) and soda. He was so wonderful to clean it out before he left last week. YUCK, dead worms, frozen chicken livers. YUCK!

Moving

Rob got home about 4pm. We are glad he is home. I did not think I would get alot done but I did get all the laundry (well except for Grace's) put away and the house straight. Then we went through the girls shoe bucketS and pulled out all the shoes they do not like or do not fit or were in bad shape. Then we went through the dress up clothes and did the same. My goals for today are to go through there pajamas and the clothes in there closet. I still need to go through stuffed animals and purses in there room.
Rob is going to transportation this morning to see if we can move our packers up a week. It would be nice to be out of here before the first of Febuary so BAH kicks in like it should. We will know more this afternoon

Mental break down

A little background, I have been sick for 3 days that I will admit to. I got 2 hours sleep last night. My husband leaves for Airborne school tomorrow and something just does not seem right about it. We are moving a week after he gets home and 4 weeks after we move he will deploy to Iraq AGAIN. So normally I am someone who can deal but this morning I could not deal. When Rob got home from a appointment I said I was going to go lay down and try to get rid of my headache. So I come and lay down in bed for about 30 minutes. For some reason the blinds in my bedroom were open and that got me started. This is what happened over the next hour.
I called Rob (yes he was in the living room). He says he is reading with Faith (he is a amazing husband) so I said OK. A few minutes later he comes in the bedroom and asked what I needed and I said nothing, he said are you sure. That was his first mistake. He said you are suppose to be resting and I said
well I was looking out the window and it reminded me that we need to get rid of the climbing toy and the picnic table and what about the trampoline, are we keeping it, i do not want to keep it, do we throw it away, well I know we do not really have the money to buy a new one when we move. And when I look out the window I realized that we have to empty the lawnmowers and that has not been done and do we need to use a pressure washer on the back porch and well i do not feel good and my head hurts
ROB: uh ha, honey i can take care of this stuff
ME: well what about our bedroom, you see you have clutter on your dressers and how do they pack clutter and what about your guns, what do we have to do for the guns again and your gun cabinet is dusting, i am sorry i do not clean better. What about our satellite, should we return it and get new or should we keep it like we did when we moved here but if we return it then we will get new remotes which is good since i break them (ask another day how i break them). and oh yeah we ran that cord through the wall for our home school satellite and it has to be patched and taken down, and well I am hungry and tired and have a head ache
Rob:honey calm down, do you hear yourself say you do not feel good, this is where this is all coming from.
Me, calmed down, lay ed down and looked up and then said Shoot
Rob: yes dear
Me, what am i going to do with that bottle of perfume, you know the stinky stuff you bought me in Iraq but it smells bad
Rob, you could just throw it away
Me: now we already throw too much away and think about what we are doing to our landfills (is that even a word) and that would be wrong but i can not give it to anyone because it stinks but i can not keep it and what do we do
Rob : trying not to laugh, honey you need to lay down and go to sleep
Me: laying down relaxing and then SHOOT the curtains are dusty and how did they get dusty and see now I have to wash them and I need to make sure all the blankets and bedding are washed the day the movers get here
Rob: honey pack them dirty
Me: ARE YOU CRAZY, what would the movers think about that and then when we get there we have to find them and you have so much to do and you have to hook up the washer and dryer and by the time that is done you will be deploying and then I will have to hang them by myself, I should just wash them and I am tired and do not feel good and my nose is running (at some point i am almost laughing at my own silliness)
Rob: honey it is okay the movers will not care
Me, ooh yeah we need to move out the washer and dryer and clean under them and drain them and what about our laundry organizer that is broken, do we take it and if so it needs to be cleaned, can u take it apart, but if you take it apart now then that means laundry will have to set on the floor and you know what that does to me. OK, I will take it one day at a time. One day I will go through the kitchen cabinets and the next day I will clean out the laundry room, if i take the food off the bookshelf and put in the kitchen it will be packed right and then I will put that empty bookshelf in the living room. speaking of food, when you cleaned the garage you did not clean the top of the fridge (yes we have a second fridge in the garage for rob) and deep freezer. And that fridge still has your worms in it and that freezer still has frozen chicken liver and you are not going fishing anymore and that is just disgusting and I do not feel good
Rob:honey I think you are delirious you need to sleep
Me: I can not sleep because my head feels like it is going to explode and there is allot to do but i am tired and well my nose is running and (okay you can not tell anyone what I am about to tell you). I bend over the side of our bed and pick up a pair of work out pants and blow my nose on them
Rob: I can not believe you just did that, if i even thought about doing anything like that you would hit me upside the head (he is right i would)
Me: I know, I am sorry but they are soft and my nose hurts and they were right here and I did not have to get out of bed, ooh but wait what if I forget that and then put them on, OOH Rob please make sure I put these in the dirty laundry, I am so sorry I just do not know what to do and I am tired and hungry
Rob: He did not say much but I am sure he is calling the local mental hospitals as I type this
Me: okay, I will calm down because I need to go grocery shopping
Rob: no you do not, we have milk
ME: how much milk
Rob: I do not know but we have milk
Me: yeah but you are leaving and it is cold and if I go now then I do not have to take out the kids in the cold and can stay in the house and I have already decided that I am not going back to speech and heritage girls and boy scouts and Aswan's, because we need to get caught up on school. and well I have to go to the grocery store.
Rob:okay honey, I could go for you, I am going out, you need rest.
Me: I will go it will be time alone and you know what, I am hungry because I did not eat all my dinner and do you know what I had for breakfast I had a mountain dew and marshmallow cereal right out of the box and do you know what my friend Melly had she had chips and dip, chips and dip sound really good but we do not have chips and dip and well I want chips and dip and I do not feel good.
Rob, okay I want you to lay down and rest I think you must have taken bad medicine.
Child walks in
Me, yes dear, have you finished your school work, are your chores done, no please do not kiss me i have a cold
Child says okay and no chores are not done and walks out
Rob, I am going to get the kids going on chores and run my errands while you rest I layed grace down for a nap.
Me, okay, I love you, thank you for putting up with me.

UPDATE:
I really am okay, I just want anyone who reads my blog to know that I am real and have real moments of anxiety. Right now I have taken time to breathe, pray and pray some more. Taken time to laugh at myself. Thanks for all the offers of help, but really I am okay and I am making it much bigger than it is.

Moving Update

I wish I had a cute picture of a moving truck or something fun. So Rob went to transportation today. First they said it was too early to make a appointment WHAT. So after talking to them nicely they said he could come back Thursday morning at 10am and talk to them. So he is BUT he will have to leave straight from the meeting to go to GA. So this afternoon he went to housing to give our 30 day notice. They said they would like us out by the 10th of Febuary instead of 12th. The theory is that if we bring them a certified check for $475 on the first they will cancel our allotment and we SHOULD get our entire BAH for Febuary on our end of the month pay check. If we do not do this Then they will take the whole months BAH and it will take up to 90 days to get us our money. So the other part of this debate is that Rob will get home from Airborne school on January 29. Because it will take the movers 2 days to pack and one day to load we would have to have them come the week before the 10th if we want time to clear housing. So that means the next few weeks will be beyond super busy for me. I guess I will know more answers after Thursday.
Rob leaves Thursday for 3 weeks of Airborne school. YES, I know he is too old for it, we have been told a million times but he has to go. Yes, I know officers hit pavement, but he has assured me he will hit grass, haha!

Moving-Decluttering

A couple of blogs I read are doing a cleaning challange and I thought I would enjoy joining them. First is a cleaning challange www.cleanmama.blogspot.com Second is a clutter challange at www.anordinarymom.com. So since the move is coming faster and faster. In 5 days Rob leaves for 3 weeks and the week after he comes home the movers will be here.
If you know me you know I love to organize and de clutter. This is the first house we have lived in, I mean we have oviously lived in houses but this is the first one I bought furniture for. I have already started doing things to cut back on the amount of pounds we have. The first thing I did was about 6 months ago. I had pictures hanging in my hallway, probably 25 of them. They drove me batty because the frames did not match and they were all crooked so I took them all down and put them a scrapbook.
For years I have asked DH to PLEASE OH PLEASE, let me get books to keep all of our DVD's in. He finally said yes the week before Christmas. So we now have 4 books of DVD's and CD's. We need to go back and pick up 2 more books, one for games and one more for DVD's.
My list to re clutter this week is short because Rob is home for 5 more days. I would like to clean out all the cabinets in the laundry room and have them ready to be moved. I will keep you updated on what we get done.
