When I think about what was given up for me, what was done for me. The gift that has been given to me I want nothing more than to fall on my knees and praise God and thank him for what he has done for me.

How does your Faith refresh at Christmas?
I think I have already said this a few times. To me I think about the Nativity and how Mary delivered a baby that would be a gift to me. I cannot imagine knowing that my baby would belong to the world and not just to me.
When I think about what was given up for me, what was done for me. The gift that has been given to me I want nothing more than to fall on my knees and praise God and thank him for what he has done for me.

What does Christmas mean to me?
Dec. 10: What Christmas means to me
What does Christmas mean to me? A new birth, a new future, a new hope? Time with loved ones, time to think back over the last year. Time for showing appreciation to all of those who have been there with you all year through the good and bad.
Time to reflect on the past year and what you learned and did and what you want to do in the next year. Time for musicals and hot chocolate and Christmas plays and staying up late in hopes of snow.
Time for smiles and buying special treats for friends and family.

My Grown -Up Wish list
I had not listened to this song in a long time.
So what would my adult list be.
1. That all of my fellow military spouses who are sleeping along tonight would feel loved and cared for and that they would have peace tonight and be able to sleep.
2. That all of our soldiers who are deployed would know that they are loved and prayed for. That we respect them and are appreciative of them.
3. That all of the children of deployed soldiers would know it is not forever, that there daddy (or mommy) loves them even when they are not home. That others appreciate what they are doing.
4. That there would be no more children who are hungry tonight, that for whatever reason they are hungry will be changed.
5. That the children who are being abused will feel loved tonight and that they would feel safe.
6. That the wives who are being abused would know that there is help out there that it is never their fault and there is a future without abuse. That hearts can be mended and changed.

The Worse Christmas song ever
Day three, I really enjoy a good blog carnival. Today’s question was The worst Christmas song ever and why. I would say I think gramma got ran over by a reindeer is the worse song because it has nothing to do with Christmas. The redeeming quality is that it is catchy and fun to listen to.

My favorite Christmas ornament
First, let me say welcome to my little blog. I really enjoy blogging it is like scrapbooking daily (or when I have the chance). I am Pam and I am married to Rob who is commonly referred to as my hero. My hero because he is a soldier with seven deployments under his belt. Because he loves me no matter how mean or hateful I have been. Because, he has given me four precious blessing. I enjoy sewing, although I cannot do much more than a straight line. I enjoy scrapbooking and card making although it has been a year since I have done either. I also love cooking and baking. I do have to say my husband is probably a better cook. I also homeschool our children. We are a house almost full of children, a dog, a cat, 2 guinea pigs and 2 gerbils. There is always laundry to be folded and bills to be paid but you know what? I would not change it for anything.
Now, let’s get back to the blog hop. My tree is one of those trees. You know the ones that are not personal and everything matches. One day I am going to regret not keeping all my kids homemade goodies.
My favorite ornament hangs on my front door. It is actually a group of ornaments. Every year we pick up the holiday ornament for whatever duty station we are at. It is a great reminder of where we were those years. For some reason it brings back memories of the people we have met and the places we have been. I wish we would have thought to do it earlier in our military life.

Where I find my strength
And Jesus said unto them ... , "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you."
Romans 1:17
You know this deployment has taught me alot and it is just begun. Normally when he deploys I am at a duty station and involved in a million things and there are a million other wives to help and support. This time I am in a new location where I do not know many other wives and I have no connection to his unit. I know where I am supose to find my strength yet I run from it. I make it my last resource. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear ... "
1 John 4:18 This one should have be my deployment verse
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6
I would love to hear where you draw your strength. How do you encourage one another. Somehow I have messed up this week and thought that we were writting about what we have learned as a military wife today. So if you want to learn what I have learned keep reading.
What have I learned so far as a military spouse. My husband was in the reserves when we married. Six months later we went active. So what have I learned. I have learned to negotiate a lease, take pets to the vet. I have learned to put on a happy face when I am sad, depressed, scared, lonely, scared or mad. I have learned to make friends quickly, to step out of my comfort time zone when I am the new girl in town. It has taught me it is okay to rely on others. I have learned to turn to God first and others next. I have learned to hold my husband tight and cherish every minute I have with him. I have learned to stand up for myself rather it be with insurance issues or lawn care people.
I have learned how to talk to strangers in circles so they think they know where my husband is without knowing. I have learned the art of counting paydays or months instead of days. I have learned that helping others through a deployment makes the deployment that much easier for you. I have learned that I still love hand writing letters to my husband. I have learned that keeping busy is my key to life.

My Funniest or Most Embarrassing Military Wife Moment
This is a story I will never forget. I was at the end of a very high risk, high stress pregnancy. I had gone to the doctor one morning and then headed to my hero's office for a promotion ceremony. So we get there as all the men are already in formation (probably 200 men). The commander and first Sargent comes back and ask how I was feeling. As they walk away my son (then 4) says mommy is that a boy, I said yes Michael. Then in his loudest voice in a room full of men standing at attention who dare not laugh and in a bay that echos he says the words I will never forget. MOMMY, DOES HE HAVE A PENIS? I felt so bad for those men because I knew they were all about to loose it.
