Miscellany Monday

This week we have gone from ice skating to

swimming

to play with our puppy who is getting HUGE, the kids think she will be as big as Clifford the Big Red Dog

I hope not, although I am amazed at how well she did after getting fixed (what is it called for female dogs. Nothing external. She acted like nothing happened at all.

Miscellany Monday

When Hope makes a bed she really makes a bed. It is like Army squared away.
This is the dog igloo in our back yard. Only the dog does not use it, the kids do. They think it is fun to roll around in it.

What a week! Five kids and one mommy were sick. I think we are all healthy now. This week I caught my daughter putting her feet on the couch and table and lifting her body. When I asked why she was doing it she said because bubby does the same thing. He puts his feet and arms on different counters to see how long he can lift his body in the air. My girls are running a 5K next month. They had a practice run afterwards and this is my daughter after the practice run.

Miscellany Monday

This weekend I had a friend come over. We spent the entire time outside. My children taught me so much. They taught me that playing in the dog igloo is so much fun. They get in and roll around the back yard. I was not too disgusted because the dog does not use it.
My friend Lindsie tried to teach the girls to do cart wheels. It was so funny to watch. Sadly, I promised her I would not put the video of her upside down on line.
I love my backyard. My dream would be to have a mega play ground in my back yard. The kids love being out there.
I knew the little kids like to climb the tree, the only one that is low enough to climb. I will say I was shocked to see that Jason and Grace now swing out of the tree.

Miscellany Monday

This week I had all my laundry caught up and put away.
This week I had a yellow ribbon put on my nail. As a reminder of my hero, not that I need a reminder but I love it. I do not have any magnets or bumper stickers on my vehicle.
My cat has a new friend. This cat tries to come in every time my cat does. I feel bad because it seems like a good cat.
My dog totally acted like a psycho dog who was going to eat someone when I took her for her first play date.
My hero is going to get me an address this week so I can mail him packages or I am going to fly to Afghanistan and build my own post office. I wonder how I could convince the Army to let me do that.
I love my life, I love my kids, I love my hero and I love the peace I have had recently.
This week I started watching Parenthood. I know, I know I am late to the ball game. I just happen to click on it one night (Netflix) and now I am addicted.

Miscellany Monday

It has been a while since I did Miscellany Monday and honestly I have missed it. I just could not seem to get into the blogging mode.
It might have something to do with the new puppy who keeps me on my toes. You know the puppy that broke my scentsy burner. I glued it together again. Then a couple of days later I was rubbing on the puppy and I noticed she had something in her fur. Can you guess what it was? Look closely at this picture and tell me what you do not see.

This week I have had a cold or allergies or something going on. It has made me extremely tired. This means we have had a lot more days where we just laid under blankets and relaxed.

Right before Christmas, my hero bought us tablets. It came with a very thin case and I could not wait to make a nicer one. So today I made one using quilting material. I still need to put a button on them. I wish I knew how to make them reversible so that I did not need to make two.
I did make Faith a skirt this week. I am going to try to take a better picture later. I just put a elastic top in it. I love this material. I used the 40% off coupon from hobby lobby on it. I took the scrap and let her use it as a scarf. I am definitely going back to buy more of this material.

Not me Monday

Not me Monday
It is not me who is not going to beg you, bribe you and harass you to enter my give away right here. I am not desperate to get lots of entries just to make myself feel good.
It is not me who combines Not me Monday with Miscellany Monday. Surely I am able to come up with two blog post on a Monday morning.
First, let me tell you if I posted some of the things I have not done I would be arrested. It has been a crazy week.
I want to know how people get angry and smack their children because last week I smacked a child on the bottom and I was not even mad and this is what happened. I promise this picture does not show how bad it really was. Even the side of my hand bruised. The child on the other hand had no idea why I was putting ice on my hand.
It was not us, meaning my husband and I. who went grocery shopping and ended up leaving a child strapped in a cart alone in an aisle because of lack of communication.
It was not my son who came to me on Tuesday afternoon and thought his sister should stop school to wash his shirt for that evening. It is her month to do laundry. He could not grasp the concept that he had to do his own laundry since he did not get it in the dirty laundry on time.
It was not me who changed a baby on a sidewalk a few weeks ago. We were at a public park having a ceremony and I could not walk away. So I turned away from the crowd and let the diapers fly.
When my daughter realized her sister’s shoes were too big she most certainly did not zip tie them to her feet?

Miscellany Monday

I had a great weekend. We had a church meeting to discuss what we want out of our church. We really do go to a rockin church.
This week I was out of the house for three nights. It did not seem like a big deal until the second night when a precious three year old woke up crying for me. My hero assured him I was in bed and then brought him to me. He just hugged and snuggled me. As soon as I promised him I would be here in the morning he calmed right down and went back to sleep. I feel so bad for leaving him.
My good friend’s husband leaves this week for a deployment. It is breaking my heart for them. Sometimes it is hard to support the Army. I want him home with his family.
We are taking Dave Ramsey’s financial peace. I love it; it is harder than I thought. I need to get real with it.
We had family pictures taken a few weeks ago. I will share them with you soon. But this picture cracks me up because during one of the pictures Hope found a bug and all was lost. The rest of the session was spent finding bugs and if you look closely you will see she was holding a bug.
My girls are having a hard time keeping there room cleaned. Part of it is three girls one room. I need HELP! It is taking alot of guts to share these pictures of a not perfectly clean room. I need some help. How would you arrange the room. It is a huge (well big) room. It was a bonus room. So how would you decorate. I have a 5, 8 and 11 year old girl in there.

Miscellany Monday

1. It is hard to set here and write tonight as I watch more documentaries of Sept. 11th.
2. It is hard to watch because I know where my brain was that day.
3. Today I found out that my daughters along with other friends thought the confessional at our church was a secret hiding spot. We go to a Army Chapel so we share it with the Catholic congregation.
4. Tonight was the first class for our financial peace class. It was better than I thought. For some reason I expected him to be mean.
5. Tonight my blessings started AWANA, they all seemed to enjoy it. Grace was upset, she said she feels bad because they played dodge ball and she has never played dodge ball and she was not good at it.
6. This week my husband will be promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2.
7. This week 2 of my children have dental cleaning. UGG, I just see paychecks being handed over.
8. My boys had a boyscout campout this weekend and had a wonderful time.
9. In case I have not said it before I love my husband. I respect him and am so grateful that God has given him the strength to climb on that plane every time he is told to serve his country. Without hesitation. I am thankful for the way he holds me for days before he leaves and assures me that I will be okay.

Miscellany Monday

1. This week we had pictures taken, my teen made it almost miserable. Okay maybe not that bad. She told me this morning she got a few good ones.
2. I know it is wrong but I really enjoy dressing my family up in similar clothes.
3. September is going to be amazing. We only have one weekend where someone will not be out of town.
4. I am debating attending PWOC this year (Protestant Women of the Chapel). It is hard because I think I need the time to socialize with other women. I just cannot imagine giving up a morning of school. But then again to worship with other women would be amazing.
5. Saturday morning I let my kids play out in the wind, while we waited for the storm to come through. Did anyone else think that was probably not a smart idea?
6. We have one more quiet week and then it is time for life to pick up. It is time for AWANA, boyscouts, Wednesday night church, and possibly PWOC. I am looking forward to it and a little nervous about being able to handle it all.
7. Yesterday I attended a baby shower. The topic of house cleaning came up. I said my house is deep cleaned when my kids are grounded and have extra chores. The lady looked at me and said your house must never be clean then. I questioned her. She told me that my children always obey and are never in trouble. AHH that was the best compliment in the world.
8. Today someone encouraged me to teach a Bible study on raising children. I told her there is no way I could/would do that. But the thought of her even thinking I was worthy means a lot.

Miscellany Monday

1. This week we start school. I am beyond excited; I have spent the last couple of weeks getting everything organized and ready. I know it will take some time to get everything going but I look forward to it.
2. My hero is off and taking my daughter fishing this morning. They are going alone. She has been looking forward to it for weeks.
3. We went to the movies today to see Mr. Poppins Penguins. I was impressed with how good it was. I was a little nervous because it had Jim Cary in it. I will definitely let the kids see it again.
4. I just heard my daughter tell her sister to be quiet “NOW”.
5. We are having family pictures taken this Wednesday outside. The last time we scheduled it outside it rained. All week the weather calls for pretty days except you guess it on Wednesday.
6. My hero and 6 kids went shopping with me today for clothes for the family picture. I just knew someone would NOT make it out alive. We all did.
7. I put a pork roast in the crock pot this morning before leaving for church, I am so glad because we left at 7:30 and did not get home until after 6pm
8. Every Sunday I get up and get in the shower, my husband wakes the kids and throws some cereal in front of them. I am in and out of the shower and ready to walk out the door in less than 30 minutes. While he is in the shower I finish up breakfast, put something in the crock pot for dinner, get six kids dressed or at least approve their clothes and get everyone loaded and make sure the diaper bag is full and everyone has what they need for church.
9. It is storming right now; I hope it storms all night so I will sleep well. I wish I could take a blanket and sleep on the front porch when it storms.
10. Thank you for listening. I am writing this Sunday evening because the house is quiet. For now I need to go to bed before I collapse.

Miscellany Monday

This weekend I worked on lesson plans for this school year.
This weekend I started working on my schedule according to the new book I am reading. Managers of their home.

This weekend we got haircuts. I really need to learn to cut little boy hair.
While getting haircuts one of the stylists gave Jerry a banana. I took it so it could peel it and Jerry screamed.

I did not know what to think when the stylist told us about a minister who gives away food. It was almost comical because we were all in polo’s and nice clothes. She made a point of following me out of the hair salon and telling me that it is good food.

Miscellany Monday

1. I have AC again and it is wonderful.
2. My hero is home from the field, I missed him so much.
3. One week from today we have our final court date for the boys, I am counting the minutes for a million reasons but the biggest one is I want them on our insurance.
4. Jerry is walking, he is really walking. He will turn around and walk. The last few steps he even runs and then he puts his hands up in the air so he can hug you. It is the best feeling in the world.
5. As I type this my husband is shooting a water gun in the house, I love this man.
6. I have four boys in my house that need haircuts. I should really learn to do this myself. $40 twice a month is way too much.
7. Someone gave us bags of clothes for the boys; I have lots of winter clothes for Jerry. God is providing every step of the way. Why do I ever question it?
8. Alison at an ordinary mom got some devastating news this week. It breaks my heart. But you know what; we do not know the rest of the story. Only one person does and I pray that she is able to cling to him. And when she can no longer stand on her own I pray she feels that we are standing for her. That we are on our knees for her and her son.
9. I tried to make chocolate chip cookies in the waffle maker and it did not work, I am so bummed. I know there is a way but it is not working for me.
10. I love my blog, I love when you leave comments. Is there a question you would like me to answer?

Miscellany Monday

My daughter were bright pink/green striped undies under her dress. They were so bright that it showed through her skirt even with her wearing a slip.
I dropped my son off at a birthday party and left for the first time ever. WOW, when did he grow up.
This week I cooked for church. I love cooking for church. I made 2 bags of hash browns, 2 boxes of pancakes on a stick, 2 honey bun cakes, 6 egg casseroles, over 100 homemade biscuits, a GIANT pineapple upside down cake, a ton of sausage and it seems like something else I am forgetting.
I had to make biscuits homemade because when I went to get the grands biscuits out of the fridge in the garage they were gone. HMM, where did they go. Oh wait, they look like vegetable cans and were put away as such. I swear some of them half baked in the garage.
My friend returned from vacation and I was able to return her bird living and non living back to her. I felt so bad but she was super nice about it.
My husband is in the field right now, it kind of makes me mad because it is miserable hot. The first day they had a million (well not a million but more than a hundred) heat issues.
I am in love more and more each day, my love grows in ways I never dreamed it would. God has truly blessed me. There are hard days, emotional days but it is so worth it.
Jerry has started to walk, it is so amazing. First one step, then several steps and now he will just stand himself up and walk. It was funny because on the second day Hope said Jerry stand, Jerry walk. And he would do it, it was so cute.
My cat refuses to stay inside, it drives me batty. If she would just stay in the yard I would not care but she climbs the back fence and there is a major road behind my house. I wish I could put a shock collar or something on her.
My dog loves the fact that my hero was away, he loves sleeping on his pillow. For that matter my kids were excited too because they love to snuggle with me when dad is gone.
Anything new happening in your world, did you have a quiet weekend?

4. We bought a new vehicle this week. So we can all fit in one vehicle again. It is wonderful to not have to take two vehicles everywhere.
5. My son had a physical last week and they said he is healthy and doing well. How did my baby boy get so big that he does not want us in the room for a physical, how is he now over 6 foot tall. I love my baby boy.
6. My house is staying cleaned up, it is a nice feeling. I stay tired but at least I do not shutter when someone knocks on the door. Now if that laundry would just fold itself.
7. I have three children up so I better get off the computer and get the cooler packed so we can hit the beach.

10. WOW, ten things already. I guess I will close and go to bed soon.

Spelling and pedicures and my baby boy

1. I have to be honest and say I have been having head aches for months. They use to just be at the base of my neck. My thyroid DR said it sounded like a tension head ache but that was just a guess. Recently it has moved from the base of my neck to both sides of my head behind/below my ears. The pain is getting worse. I know what you are thinking. Go to the doctor and when my husband reads this I am sure he will say the same. I do not take pain meds for it so maybe it is not so bad. Do you have headaches like this?
2. I am annoyed that on most blogs I can still not leave comments. It seems like it has been months but really it is weeks. It is only on blogger accounts that use blogger comment forms. It is so weird it will let me sign in and follow you but when I leave a comment it makes me write the comment, sign in, word verification, and then repeat, repeat and again. It never posts my comment. If you have left me a comment and notice I have not responded back on your blog that may be the reason.
3. This week I had a last minute visit from friends and guess what there was laundry all over my livingroom, some folded some not. It also looked like I had not vacuumed in a year but in reality it had only been about 7 hours.
4. My son went kayaking in the ocean this weekend. He went without me. When did he get big enough to go hours away from home alone without his mommy?
5. I need a pedicure and my nails filled in. it is my luxury item. I stretch the time out between ways to long.
6. My husband is away with the Army. I cannot pray enough while he is away even if he is stateside and in meetings all day. I miss him more than I want to admit.
7. I need your help, how do you spell livingroom (living room or livingroom. What about homeschooling (home schooling or homeschooling).
8. My knat trick is working great but only if I put it out every day which is a pain.

Miscellany Monday

1. Today my husband is away with the Army. I am trying not to complain that they took my hero away on a four day weekend. Especially since he really only needs to be there for one day.
2. Today I am forcing my kids to do school. The good thing about homeschooling is I do not have to take a holiday off when everyone else does. I can also spend the day explaining why we have this holiday.
3. Today I am going to put away my laundry because I feel so much better when it is put away.
4. Putting away laundry is my least favorite job.
5. Today I get to fix curtains for my mom and hopefully make an apron for a friend.
6. Today I will take time to remind my children of what this day means. I will not sugar coat what our soldiers have done for us.

Miscellany Monday

1. Last week I got a manicure and pedicure. I am sure the lady thought I was nuts, first I do not enjoy a pedicure and look like I am in pain half the time. Then half way through I realized I had not shaved in a month. OOPS!!
2. At some point during pedicure I realized I needed Chap Stick. So I dug through my purse and found a new thing of Chap Stick and went to town. During my manicure the lady had me go wash my hands. This is when I happen to see my reflection in the mirror. Do you want to know what I saw? I saw a clown face, you know where there is red all around the lips. Apparently my chap stick was tinted red and I did not know it and I know had red all around my lips. I could not wipe it off fast enough.
3. So the nice lady survived my manicure and pedicure and it was time to pay. No problem, I opened my wallet and guess what? There was no credit card. I dug through my purse again and again before asking if they take a check. Of course they do not, which is good because I probably would not know how to write one. I was so embarrassed. I finally dug deep enough to find my card that had fallen out of my purse. I am sure this lady will never want to help me again.
4. Today I wore jewelry for the first time in months, what is comical about that is someone from church said I look tired.
5. I am going to have a amazing wonderful week and may even take the kids swimming one day this week.
