In my life this week…My husbands promotion, it is happening in 8 hours. I should so be up making cupcakes and showering kids.
In our homeschool this week…My daughter had 2 good days of reading. I think I need to keep working hard and we will get there.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…Do not listen to what everyone else is doing and accomplishing. I often am over whelmed with what my friends can get done. I wonder how many days are in there day.
I am inspired by…my husband. He leaves for work by 5am and comes home after 5pm. And every night he helps with our blessings and dinner.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…7 days from now we will be heading to a marriage/family retreat. I am so excited for time away.
My favorite thing this week was…watching my husband teach Tom how to sword fight, I have not heard him laugh this loud in a long time.
What’s working/not working for us…somehow my 5 year old is not getting chores done like she should. I need to really take the time to watch her more closely.
Questions/thoughts I have…Would It be okay if I had my kids wear the same clothes everyday for a week and not shower so I do not have to work on laundry.
Things I’m working on…Cupcakes this morning for my hero’s promotion. We ordered a cake but decided to make cupcakes to make sure we have plenty. We ordered the cake because he wanted a special picture put on the top of it.
I’m reading…Shepherding a Childs heart.
I’m cooking…beef tips in the crock pot today so we do not have to worry about it this evening.
I’m grateful for…my hero who is willing to start taking financial peace with me.
I’m praying for…my children, for my husband and for my family.

In my life this week… My husband was on lock down for 36 hours, lots of where is daddy and I miss daddy.
In our homeschool this week…my son helped my daughter with Math, was not told to just did, I almost cried.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…Make a schedule even if you cannot follow it perfectly, make a schedule so your kids know what is expected when you are not right there.
I am inspired by…
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…to Myrtle Beach for a family/marriage retreat. I am so excited to get away.
My favorite thing this week was…My hero calling and saying he was on his way home
What’s working/not working for us…My afternoons, that is when I plan to work with my 2 middle children while the youngest 2 take naps but by nap time I am toast and am not having the motivation I need. I am doing it but do not think they are getting my all and all.
Questions/thoughts I have…Nothing this week
Things I’m working on…I am hoping to take Saturday and work on some sewing. I am turning all Hope’s pillow case dresses into skirts for Grace. They do not love the pillow case dresses anymore.
I’m reading…I picked up So Long Insecurities yesterday for about the fifth time. I just can never seem to get into it. Great book I just am not taking the time I need
I’m cooking…pumpkin pudding for the fun of it, I love all things pumpkin
I’m grateful for…Our boyscout Troop, they have really taken my son under their wings and been amazing to him.
I’m praying for…a friend who is 21 weeks pregnant and having some issues. She is on bedrest right now and I know how hard that can be. She has four other little ones. Praying for this blessing to stay put and grow. Praying mom has all the help she needs to stay in one spot so baby can grow, praying for dad because after being in the hospital on bedrest for 5 weeks I understand the strain it puts on dad.

In my life this week…
I had friends over for dinner, I had another friends daughter spend the night, I burned new scentsy that is so amazing, I cannot describe it.
In our homeschool this week…
Schedules being made, schedules being approved, books being sorted, copies being made.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We are going to myrtle beach for a family retreat in just one month. I am super excited about it. Although it will be the first time with 6 kids in one hotel room.
My favorite thing this week was…
Watching the UPS man deliver 8 boxes of goodies to my home on Monday. Boxes full of hard drives and books.
Questions/thoughts I have…
It is going to be a rollercoaster year and I cannot wait to get it started. I will have a ninth grader (I cannot bring myself to say high schooler), a sixth grader (my baby girl is in middle school), a third grader, a kindergartners and two pre schoolers.
I’m reading…
Managers of their home, it is amazing. I love to make schedules and have a pretty good routine but this has really opened to my eyes to some common sense ideas.

In my life this week…
My friend came home from her month long vacation. Which means a trip to the airport at 11pm with a 1,3 and 5 year old. It also means she took her bird home. While I am glad I will not be worrying about its fragile little body I will miss seeing it fly around my bedroom or all the little noises it makes. It really is a pretty little bird.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Keep activities for the little kids to do around that are only for school hours. So that way while you are working with the bigger kids they have something special to do.
My favorite thing this week was…
Was bringing my son home from boy-scout camp. I missed him and while I know he had a great time he was missed at home. I do not think the kids have stopped hugging him.
I’m grateful for…
Six amazing children that will be with me this year. Six little minds to encourage, six little hearts to watch open, six little bodies to love on.

In my life this week…I had/have a sinus infection. It is my first and it is kicking my behind. I did not realize I needed to go to the doctor until I realized I had taken a entire bottle of ibuprofen.
In our homeschool this week…
We did math at the strawberry patch and studied animals at the zoo and aquarium and worked on math review skills.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… we are going to a friend’s today to see her chickens, in the last week we have gone to the beach and zoo and aquarium and gone strawberry picking. It has been a busy week.
My favorite thing this week was…
Having friends over to play almost daily and today we are going to visit a friend who has chickens, I cannot wait.

How is my son done with school for the year but my girls still having another month at least? How do you prepare your child for standardized test?

In my life this week…
It has been crazy, such a change from my set around and relax last week. We have had four appointments, not wait five appointments.
In our homeschool this week…
My son finished Math for the year, can I throw that book into a bonfire. Oh yeah wait we need it for 3 other children. He does not know this but he has lots of review work to do on this subject.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
This week we are not going anywhere but my boys just got home from a week in the mountains and I am getting ready to go get my mom at the end of the week. She is going to spend a week with me.

My favorite thing this week was hugging my boys when they come home. I missed them terribly and hearing them tell stories of their trips.
What’s working/not working for us…
Our chore charts are working and I am hearing a lot less arguing and my house is staying cleaner. The kids are encouraging me to stick with them

Would it be wrong to homeschool my kindergartner and second grader together. They are so close in what they know.

In my life this week...

It has been quiet, my hero and son have been in the mountains fishing for trout with grandpa.
In our homeschool this week...

Lots of review and lots of relaxing, almost a mini spring break while the boys are not here.
Places we're going and people we're seeing...

We thought we were going to the zoo but it has rained every day. We have honestly stayed home and enjoyed having friends over.

My favorite thing this week was...
Having a friend over and making play dough. Baking for the joy of baking and not out of need. Setting at the dentist talking about JFK and Hitler, cannot imagine what the others in the waiting room thought. The joys of multiple ages.

What's working/not working for us...

Our new chore chart seems to be working. Not taking the time to go back and review basic math and reading has hurt us. We are now taking some time to review before moving on.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
I love Bob Jones and have used it for many years. Now I am worried it will not be enough to get us into college. I would love to hear from others who have strictly used BJU in high school.

In my life this week...

We were scared and scatterbrained. My eight year old woke up on Tuesday having a asthma attack. It was her first. I am use to it with my 5 year old but not with my I have never been sick girl. She is better now but when I took her in yesterday for a follow-up the doctor reminded me that this was serious and how close she was to being put in the hospital. It is like day and night now and she is back to herself.

In our homeschool this week...

My son finished up English for the year. He finished up Literature last semester. I do not have the guts to tell him that they were only one semester long. It encourages him to finish up the year.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...

In March my men are going with my father in law to the mountains for a week. I am so excited for them to be able to do this. I love that they have time to be together and build bonds to last a lifetime.
My favorite thing this week was...

Opening the windows and letting the 69 degree weather clean out my house of all the coughs and sneezes. Listening to my daughter read. My children have all been late readers and when they get it I feel like I am doing something right.

What's working/not working for us...

Somehow we have not gotten multiplication down to a science. I have got to work on this .

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...

Do you take your kids out during the week to shop or run errands. I do but I have heard several people say they do not because they feel like it is school time.
