Pray For me Monday

JAMES 5:16
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so
that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and
effective." (NIV)

PSALMS 116:2
"Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live" (NKJV)

Welcome to this weeks Pray For Me Mondays with Home Grown Families and Pamela from Troop Petrie.  We are so excited to be working together on this journey!

Basically, PFMM will work like this:

  • Pamela and I will write posts on relevant topics and post

  • You can link up your own post, comment or e-mail us your prayer requests

  • We'll pray for you and hopefully others will, too

Tiffany {the single one} says:

God has been calling me back.  I've been having such a hard time with things lately and He is done with me moping around.  It is time to get back to business.

Because of His faithfullness, He is putting people in my life that are encouraging me to go toward His light.  It is always so hard let go of everything we need to let go of in order to be where we need to be.

Pray for me as I allow God to work on my heart.

Pamela {the married one} says:

Overcoming guilt:

Luke 5:24-26 24But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . ." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."

Do you live under guilt? Are you really nice to someone because you feel you have wronged them in the past?  Do you give into your children because you did not have time for a bedtime story or you lost your temper with them this morning?

Well today I want to focus on giving up that guilt. In Luke 5:24 we learn how we are forgiven.

2 Corinthians 7:10
10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

I cannot live under guilt any longer. I can ask for forgiveness for my failures. But I cannot live with it.

The other thing I want to focus on this week is not causing guilt. My mother made mistakes during my childhood. Mistakes I have forgiven her for. It hurts me to hear her talk about the guilt she has over her past mistakes.

I pray that one day she will be released from the guilt.

This week I am feeling blessed and happy and counting minutes. In just 5 days I will be going to the beach with my hero for two glorious nights.

So my prayer request this week is that nothing comes between our time away. That my sitter has a wonderful weekend and the children make this a great weekend for her.

Pamela {the married one} says:

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Rest. Do you want rest? Do you miss feeling rested? Do you wonder if you
will ever feel rested? Let me be honest and say I have been tired for a
very long time. I try to deny it but reality is it is getting worse.

I
do not just mean I am tired and need a nap. There are days that by mid
day my eyes burn from exhaustion. I now yawn all the time. My mother
thinks she bores me when we are talking because I constantly am yawning.

I have not admitted how tired I am because I thought it had something to
do with having children and extra weight. I did not want to admit that I
was tired or struggling because it made me feel like a failure.

Well my daughter called me on the carpet (where did I learn that phrase?)
this week. I took her in for a physical and at one point I got my words
jumbled. Something that has happened a lot recently. Hope looked at
the doctor and said “my mom does not even know our names anymore and
well she is tired all the time”.  I guess I have not been hiding it from
my kids as well as I thought.

Needless to say that although we went in
for Hope we left with 2 new appointments for me.
I need to be honest and say I do believe part of my problem is I have
forgotten where my refuge is. I have been quick to turn to others and
have stopped doing my morning devotions. I guess forgotten is the wrong
word, I have not forgotten but I have not been good at turning to Him.

This week my prayer is that we will all take the time we need to find
refuge in the word, to not forget to pray for our needs. Even if we do
not think we are worthy of them. For me I often do not ask to feel
rested because I feel like it is my fault I feel tired. I pray that you
(and I) will find the time to rest. Rather it is to read a book, write
in a journal or have the thought to pray. Sometimes I feel like when I
am praying I get so distracted. This week I am determined to pray, to
really pray and if my brain will not let me pray then I will write my
prayer.

Exodus 33:14
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Tiffany {the single one} says:

I am so glad that Pamela write about encouragement this week.  {I usually let Pam decide what we talk about and just follow her lead.}

Encouragement is something with which I struggle.  In this valley of my life, I could really use it.  From women that really mean it.

I always wished I was someone that had that group of gf's that really stick with you.  The ones that go out to dinner periodically and are there for each other.  The one's that hug you when you're down and catch you when you're falling.

However, at this point in my life, my kids consume me.  I've said before that I don't go anywhere or do anything~ and it's true.

I do have gf's though, that are there for me; I don't want to discount them.  It's just that we're all so bust struggling with our own lives.  We have small kids, husbands that are transferred, live states apart, etc.

Just remember to encourage each other as much as you can.  You never know who really needs to hear it.

Make a goal to reach out to one person this week.  Really reach out~ go out of your way to encourage someone else.

Let me know how it goes.

Pamela {the married one} says:

This morning our chaplain spoke on encouraging one another. It touched me. I have to admit that I sometimes forget to encourage others. I make comments without thinking about it. But I am not intentional about lifting up and encouraging those I know need it.

As I type this I can think of someone who I know could use encouragement and yet every time I see her I do not give it.

In the NIV of the Bible it says
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

This week I want to encourage you, encourage you to not give up. Even when you are tired, even when you feel alone, even when your marriage is struggling or your children are struggling. I want to remind you that we serve a strong God who knows what is going on even when you think no one knows.

I want to encourage you to keep showing your children God’s word. When you think you can do no more, then take it to God and ask him to show you how to do more.

I would love to hear how you found time to encourage someone this week. Maybe we can hold each other accountable.

This week I have a prayer request that I do not know how to explain. On 10-31-11 our dog of 10 years passed away suddenly. Just 2 days later my hero brought home a 5 week old puppy. I asked him not to get a puppy but he thought it was for the best. Over the last 2.5 months I have dealt with her biting on everything and tearing things up, I have been the one to potty train. Those first few nights when I was so angry she was around she decided that she would only sleep if she was in my hair. Honestly, I have grown to love her.

Over the last few days she has nipped 2 of my children. I cannot decide what this means. Is she just being a puppy or is this signs of aggression? I do not know how to handle this. I am calling the Vet first thing in the morning to ask for help. She has not been old enough for puppy training classes.

Please pray that we will know what to do and how to do it. She weighed 3.4 pounds when we got her and she now weighs 22 pounds. She is a Deutsch Sheppard and we are told she will be about 60-70 pounds. My hero is away at training right now so communication is almost non-existent. She plays constantly with my kids and normally the baby can steal her food right out of her bowl. She is very smart and has learned to lay and sit and stay.

Thank you for your prayers.

Tiffany {the single one} says:

I have to say that I don't live in fear.  I have no fear to speak of~ unless it comes to my kids.  I fear that I am not giving the the proper education, I don't have them in the right therapies/with the right therapists, I haven't scheduled this appt or that evaluation...

Then I think about the future.  Are they going to be able to live alone?  Will they ever 'get it' enough to not be taken advantage of?  Will they be able to live alone?  Raise a family?  Will Knuckles ever learn how to read?

I can go on and on.

One thing that keeps me sane is that I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God has plans for my girls.  He has watched over them and put them in the best possible place for them right now.  This knowledge allows me to just keep on.  Sometimes we're not going in an upward line but I'm content with our straight shot.  The ups will come later.  I can wait.

Please pray for my girls and wisdom for me to handle them.  It's good right now but we can go downhill very quickly!

Pamela {the married one} says:

Do you live in fear? Are you consumed with anxiety? Do you worry about
what will happen next? Does it seem like the lions are just outside your
door waiting to come in and you cannot get the door to lock?

Have you
heard the story of Daniel?

This week we stayed home from church because the baby and I have a
cough. A cough we had a month ago and has now came back. Anyways, I
turned on the TV this morning and heard part of Joel Osteen and part of a
sermon a women was teaching but I did not catch her name. Both spoke
about this briefly.

I would like to tell you that I put my faith in God and do not have
fear but that is not truth. I constantly fear what people will think
about how I raise my children.

I have a great ability that allows me to
ignore the fact that my husband is deploying again. To live in the
moment and forget what is really going on. But then there are moments
when I read about a high school friend who was injured in Afghanistan or
when I read a blog about a soldier who lost his life to PTSD. That is
when I let my fear rise up.

But for today and for as many days as I can I am determined to get on my
knees more and ask for help. Instead of turning to friends and food,
this has become my normal. Nothing is wrong with turning to friends.
But I know I need to turn to God more.

Psalm 91:1

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,

10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

This week, my prayer is that we do not live by fear or anxiety but rest
in his arms knowing that he will care take care of us.

Tiffany {the single one} says:

Wow! It's 2012.  This is the first Pray For Me Monday that I have done this year.  I want to thank Pamela for holding down the fort while I was on vacation~ and then the mini crisis that followed.

I can't seem to get myself out of this funk.  I feel so useless.  I am just able to deal with daily functions and nothing else.  I just can't seem to get myself out of it!

On the upside, I am still forcing myself to move on.  I am still working on the Couch to 5K~ I'm in my 2nd week.   Today's run came with shin splint so it ended about 1/2 way through.  It's OK.  I'll pick it back up on Tuesday.

Continue to pray for me as I struggle through these personal issues.

Pamela {the married one} says:

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 3:13,14

It is a new year, can you believe it? It seems like the last year has blown by. We have lived in North Carolina for almost 2 years.

This is going to be another year of changes. My hero will be deployed for part of it. My son will turn 16, as in close my eyes and he will be driving. My baby girl will surely lose her first tooth. My hero will come home from his deployment and we will re adjust.

This year I vow to not make resolutions that I will not keep but instead just live every day. To find ways to be a better mother and wife to my husband. This year I vow to not live in the past and focus on my past failures as a wife and mother. This year I am going to focus on improving what I dislike about myself.

This week I ask you to pray for our family. Our time with my hero is getting shorter and shorter. I know it sounds silly but one of our guinea pigs died today and it is hard on our 9 year old.

Pam {the married one} says:

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Proverbs 12:25 25 An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.
Worry:
I think I could talk on worry for pages and pages. I am really good at giving advice about how to avoid worrying. I am not so good at following that same advice.
I think what I have realized is I can prepare for what needs done or what is going to happen. But I still need to pray about it and hand it over. He knows what is going to happen and why. I am trying hard to do a couple of things. First, express why I am worrying to my spouse or a close friend. Keeping it bottled up does not help. Second, I try to get to the root of what I am worrying about. Am I worried about going on a field trip with 6 kids because it will be a lot of work or am I really worried because I feel like other people will be watching?
Am I worried about our finances and having a financial emergency or am I worried because I do not want someone to think we do not have our finances under control?
Am I worried about my children becoming sick or am I worried that I will not have the faith I need to sustain me?
Matthew 6:27-29 27 You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. 28 "And why do you worry about clothes? Look at how the lilies in the field grow. They don't work or make clothes for themselves. 29 But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.

Tiffany {the single one} says:

So, it seems that both Pam and I are struggling.  I am in the pit of all my regular insecurities~ I must like it here.  I am here a lot.

Continue to pray for me.  Pam and I both need it this week!

Pam {the married one} says:

1Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

I have to be
honest and tell you that I am struggling right now. Not with depression, or
maybe it is. But struggling; with my husband working until 11pm, struggling
with him not getting block leave or Christmas leave. Struggling with this
deployment. It is not the fear of him not being here to help. I can do that,
have done that. It is what it does to the kids. It breaks my heart that he will
miss another one of Faith’s birthdays, she will turn 12 and he will not be
here. He has missed at least half of them.

I am
struggling with struggling with things that have been said to me recently.
Struggling with not keeping up with things like I normally do.

I am really
struggling with turning it over to God. I have no problem crying out for
others. I would gladly be on my knees for your marriage or your struggles but
for some reason when it comes to me I cannot help myself.

So today I
ask you to pray for us. Pray for us as we try to get everything done before
this deployment. Pray that we will not pull away from one another. It is so
much easier to let him leave if I am angry at him. Pray that I will remember
where my strength comes from.

Psalms 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will
never let the righteous fall.

Tiffany {the single one} says:

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Children, of course we love them~ we just don't always like them, at least for the moment.

As I write this, I am arguing with my 2 year old to go back to bed.  She's tired and a bear and, honestly, I don't want to deal with it anymore.

While I know what is wrong with her, the reasons the other 2 {they just turned 8!} do things aren't so clear.

What is the Autism?  What is from their extreme immaturity?  What is from their social problems?

And, it's not only their actions.  I have a hard time deciding what I'm doing when we're working on school work.  What is from one of their LD's and what is lazy?  How hard should I push?  What are they really capable of?

Push too hard and it will turn them off of learning.  If I don't push hard enough, they will never live up to their potential...

Keep us in your prayers as we struggle along in our everyday life.  It will get better, I know, but just keep praying for us in the meantime.

Pam {the married one} says:

Psalm 86:11

Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

Do you ever think that your spouse or children should change? What they are doing is wrong. How they respond is wrong. You know it is wrong; you live with them, right?

Have you ever taken a step back and thought why do they do it that way, why do I think what they are doing as harmful to me.

For a year I saw my son pull back from the world more and more. I could not understand it. He would complain about not having friends but yet never wanted to get out and make friends. One day his counselor explained it.

He wants friends but the problem is wanting them does not mean he is willing to do the work. In Michael’s eyes, if he got involved with others they could reject him, they could dislike him. It was easier to step back and not have friends.

It broke my heart when it was explained that way to me.

This week my prayer is that I will have my eyes open to what is going on before I pass judgment on what I think my spouse and children are thinking. That instead of assuming my husband is ignoring me I will ask him what is on his mind. It may be that he just needs a minute to relax before I start asking questions.

This week, we are still talking about husbands!!

Tiffany {the single one} says:

So, I thought last week was the only week we were going to talk about husbands, but...

Melissa and I have been talking about me dating.  I have not dated in about 3 years~ since I got pregnant with Mugsy and her dad left.  Melissa thinks it's time I get out there.

I am not so sure.

It's not that I don't want to date or marry, it's more that I just want to wake up married.  I don't have the energy to go through the process.  And I don't know that I am emotionally strong enough to deal with the inevitable rejection.

I have, however, felt God preparing me for a change over the last year.  I have faith that He will not make me do this on my own forever~ it's too hard for one person.

After two tear filled conversations with two different friends last night {after I wrote everything above this sentence} I have decided to be open to the possibility of maybe thinking that it might be time to start getting ready to think that maybe, in the future, I might date.  :)  That's a big step.

I have decided to start small.  I need to write a post about this because it is too much to explain here, but "Tiffany" has been lost.  I don't know how someone can loose herself when she is always with herself but I have managed to do it.  I am "the twins Mom," "the one with the Autistic twins," "that crazy lady" and "the baby's Mom"~ but never Tiffany.

I have made a "date" with a friend to go out for dinner.  A platonic friend from high school that I haven't been able to sit down and talk to for 15 years.  Just to get me out of the house and conversing with another adult.  It has been SO long.  Too long.

So, please keep me in your prayers as my new journey begins.  Please pray that I stick to my guns about what I am looking for in a guy.  Pray that my girls can deal with me leaving the house for an hour or two occasionally {because now they can not.}  Pray that I don't get led into temptation.  And, please pray that God has mercy on the poor frazzled single mom and makes it a short and painless journey.

Pam can't be a part of the conversation this week but she wants you to know she is praying for you!

We received some private prayer requests.  There is a special needs girl, S, that is having a hard time adjusting to her daddy's deployment.  And, L, has chronic pain and is having an extra hard time right now.

You can contact us with your prayer request privately at PrayForMeMondays {at} yahoo {dot} com.

This week, we are talking about husbands!!

Tiffany {the single one} says:

The subject of husbands has been weighing on me for weeks.  Not having a husband, I am curious as to why this is! :)

I never expected to be a single Mom.  It honestly wasn't in my "5 year plan."  But, life has a way of taking over and spinning out of control.  FAST!

Seriously.  I was 16 one day and a single Mom the next.

I would be lying if I said that I don't sometimes want a husband.  Well, if sometimes is 99% of the time...

Then, I see what my girlfriends go through.  I have a  friend whos husband is addicted to pain killers.  Another friend is battling a porn addiction with her husband.  Yet another friend has a husband who refuses to get a job~ and then complains that there isn't enough money for the bills.

I don't want any of that!!  I couldn't even begin to deal with that with everything else that is going on!  When I see this, I think 'You can keep it!  I don't want a husband!'

I have so much more to say on the subject but we are going to have to save it for another week!

Pam {the married one} says:

Marriage is: rewarding, challenging, security, scary, forever, ending, comforting, uncomfortable.  Marriage is not what I thought it would be.

You see, when I got married I was living on my own.  I was independent and secure and did not need a man.  I went as far as refusing to allow our minister to put in the sentence "to love and obey."  Heck no!  This is something I have since regretted.  Something I long to repeat and change.

I did not understand the importance of praying for my spouse.  He is strong and can handle things on his own.  He does not need me.

I was so wrong.

When I am on my knees for my husband, it humbles me.  It draws me close to noy only my husband, but to the Lord, too.

So, how do you pray for your spouse?  What do you pray for?  First, I would say to ask your husband "How can I pray for you?"  That gives us something to talk about, it lets me know his hopes and dreams and fears.

Colossians 3:18-21

Wives you must submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord.  And you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly.  You children must always obey your parents for this is what pleases the Lord.  Fathers, don't aggravate your children.  If you do, they will become discouraged and quit trying.

Ladies, I encourage you to take time to pray for your marriage.  Ask God specifically how you can encourage and help your husband.  Along those same lines, I encourage you to ask your husband to pray for you.  I think our men need to know they are needed.

Do you have a specific request this week?  Please know that I pray for all of my blog readers.  The ones who comment and the ones who just visit.

Request~ Please pray for both of us~ Pam as the wife to a loving and faithful man and Tif as the husbandless Mom.  Please pray for all of those with husbands battling a problem and for all of us who don't have them.

Praise~ A Blogger linked commented that she needed prayer for her sick daughter and we are happy to report that her baby is home and on the mend!

You can contact us with your prayer request privately at PrayForMeMondays {at} yahoo {dot} com.

Tiffany Says:

This week has definitely been better than last week for us!  I have gotten a few answers I have been waiting for and things seem a bit calmer~ for the moment at least!

Emotionally, I am a mess!  (See yesterdays post Things a Christian should never say)  Things are so hard for me to deal with emotionally right now!  I feel like that is where most of my problems stem from recently~ my inability to regulate my feelings.  Being a single mom, and always alone, is a dark place to be sometimes.  It is very easy to let your thoughts run away with themselves and then end up a crying mess over something that isn't even the reality of a situation.

Please pray for me and all single Mothers this week.
Please pray for Pam~ her husband is going to be gone all week. Pray that he is safe in the field and that training goes well. Please pray for the children as their father will be gone.

Last week, Pam and I asked for people interested in guest blogging for Pray For Me Mondays to contact us at PrayForMeMondays {at} yahoo.  We would love to have posts about anything related to praying!  Praying for friends, family, ex's, children, churches, etc.  How you pray, your prayer system, your prayer outlines, etc.  Really.  Anything prayer related!

If you have a private prayer request please feel free to send it to PrayForMeMondays {at} yahoo {dot} com.

{We will not share your prayer request with anyone.  We will not mention you by name.  We will not reveal specific details.  We may mention your issue like "pray for a husband to be saved~ request via e-mail" unless otherwise requested.}

Tiffany says:

Pamela really hit it on the head this week!  She has been so awesome with writing the posts before I do, and this one SOOOO applies to me! {not the Grandmother stuff, the guilt stuff.}

I live consumed by guilt.  Every time I look at my girls, I feel guilty that they don't have a father and then I start to replay it in my head "I shouldn't have divorced their {the twins} father." "What did I do to make her {the babys} father leave?  Was I that bad???"

Life goes on. And my sins are forgiven.  So, why am I still holding on?  Pray for me.

Pamela Says:

Do you struggle with guilt? Did you put the guilt on yourself or do other people put the guilt on you? I struggle with guilt in many places in my life. Guilt I put on myself and guilt other people put on me.

Eighteen years ago I moved out of my parent’s home. Well really I moved out twenty years ago. When I told my grandmother I was moving out she told me point blank if I moved out she would die. I told her that was not okay.

I moved out (as in 9 hours from home) and 2 months later she had a heart attack. I moved home. A year and a half later I moved out again. Again before leaving my grandmother told me "If you leave I will die." I was determined that she was just talking.

Well on Friday morning I moved out and on Sunday morning my grandmother passed away. For a long time I suffered with guilt over my grandmothers death.

I no longer let guilt consume my days. Not that I do not struggle with it because I do. But it cannot control my life any longer.

In 1John 3:19-20 it says, "This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything."

God knows my heart, he knows that I did not mean for my grandmother to die. He knows my dreams and hopes and goals and only he can help me with them.

Have you shared your heart with God recently? Have you asked him to help explain your guilt so you understand the reason behind it?

Today I have two special prayer requests. The final court hearing for the boys is on Thursday. Once this is done we will be able to get insurance on Tom. I do not see any problems with the court date. We already have the final paperwork on the baby and have him enrolled in DEERS.

Please also pray for a high school friend who was injured in Afghanistan. He had a rough few days. Please pray for healing and for strength for his wife who is by his side every minute she is able.

How can we pray for you this week? Please feel free to leave it in the comment section, link up, or send us an e-mail

There is a blogger that is having a c-sec this Wed.  Pray for her and her baby boy.

Come back next week and tell me how your prayer was answered. If you have a private prayer request please feel free to send it to PrayForMeMondays {at} yahoo {dot} com.

Pamela Says:

Do you ever feel unloved or unwanted? I have to be honest and say I go through times when I feel like I am not making someone happy.

This week I took some time to think about scripture that talks about these feelings.

In Psalms 48:9 it says “Within your temple, O God,
we meditate on your unfailing love”

1 John 3:19-20 "this is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything."

I read this, but yet it is hard to remember to do it. Put my heart in His presence. This is my goal this week. Let me share. Last week I was having a hard time. I actually went to PWOC and left before it started. It has nothing to do with PWOC. PWOC is great but I am having a hard time finding my place. My brain says 'just give up, do not go back.' But my heart says 'you are here for a reason and you need to keep going.'

So how do you deal with insecurities?

This week I have a prayer request: A high school friend was in an accident (not really the correct word) in Afghanistan. He is stable and as I type is flying back to the states. Please pray for his healing and for his wife. {Boy oh boy does this hit close to home and forced us to have some of those hard talks we have not had in a few years.}
