Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful today. I have had an amazing week. This week I am so thankful for my son’s boy scout troop. This past Saturday they came to my home and chopped wood and raked leaves and chopped and stacked more wood. They did this for my husband who is deployed. They did it for me. They did it out of kindness. They did it without grumbling. They did it because that is what scouts do. I am so grateful that my son is part of a troop that steps up when there is a need.
Thank you Troop 941.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a wonderful friend who took a million pictures of my family this week. Okay maybe it was more like a million and one. This is the second time she has done this. The first time it was raining so we could not do outside pictures.
I am thankful for the lady who gave my son a gift card for mowing her grass. He did it for free to be nice and she rewarded that. Sometimes our kid’s just need rewarded.
I am thankful that my husband was still willing to kiss me in pictures tonight. He is really the love of my life.
I am thankful that we started school this week, thankful that we are able to homeschool our kids.
I am thankful that my husband is able to fix just about anything. In the last 2 weeks he has had to replace on toilet and fix 2 more. He has fixed my computer and it seems like a million other things. He never gets to just set down.

This week I am thankful for a amazing husband who made sure we had plenty of wood to keep us warm this winter. I am grateful for snow to play in, although it turned to ice quickly. I am thankful I tried snow cream because it was Y-U-M-M-Y!!

Amazing Grace

Thankful Thursday is one of my favorite things of the week. I love reminding myself to be grateful. Today we had small group. I am really enjoying small group. If you have been around me you know I LOVE praise and worship music. Tonight we took the time to sing hymns. Oh how it thrills me. This week we sang Amazing Grace it is one of the songs you love no matter how many times you sing it. Read the words and think about them.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see
Oh, how I could do a year’s worth of blog post on this one. What about the first verse. I was blind but now I see. How awesome is that feeling, that feeling of knowing you are forgiven. That no matter what I did, I am forgiven. Those words are so freeing. What I have to remind myself is that I am forgiven and not to live in guilt with those sins.
I love the last part, when we’ve been there 10 THOUSAND years. That thought gets me through life. When I have been at my lowest and wondered how I would make it through the next hour I think back to that phrase. I remind myself that while I may live a hundred years on this earth I will live forever in heaven. Not a day or a year or even a hundred years but forever in my father’s safety. I want to take the time to think about the songs I am singing. To think about the man who sent his son for me, who has forgiven me for all my transgressions big and small? For that I will never have to repay.

How do you entertain guest?

We put them to work. Michael's friend came over last week. They had a great time until the boys dad let my hero borrow a wood splitter and then it was time to work. The boys honestly enjoyed chopping the wood but I could not be out there. Watching them swing a ax was too scary for me. I am grateful for all the wood to keep our house warm.So this week I am grateful for friends and thankful for young men who are willing to help and be paid with nothing more than pizza. I am also very thankful for my wonderful warm home.

Thankful Thursday

I am always thankful. Tonight I am thankful for a program called Hero's for Home sponsored by Sears. I love how they help military at Christmas time. Please take a moment to check it out and leave a word of encouragement on the site. I can tell you that if you donate to them or just leave a message for a soldier it will make your days and there's.

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for my baby girl. Two years ago she went into the hospital after having a asthma attack. 15 days later she left the hospital after having a 5 ulcers. This week we had her re scoped to see if the ulcers were still there. I am thrilled to say that not only are there no ulcers but there are no signs of reflux either. So no more pink pills. She is still having a little pain occasionally. They took biopsy's and we will know on Friday if they show reflux. The hospital was amazing Monday. We had to be there at 7:30 and she was first on the schedule at 8:30. They decided she did not even need something to help calm her down. You know, since she was laughing and dancing. They took her back at 8:20 (ahead of time, can you believe it) and by 8:50 the Dr came out to tell me the good news. We left the hospital before 10am. She had no side effects from being put to sleep. Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for a husband who loves me enough to say dear you need new underwear and then take me shopping. Not only did he take me shopping but he made sure I bought more than I needed. Not only did he take me shopping he allowed me to buy granny panties because he loves me.
I am thankful for a friend who told me to get my thyroid checked when I talked about how cold I was this summer. I am thankful for that friend who then pushed me to get that blood work done.
I am thankful for the second doctor I saw who did not lose her brain when I told her I do not use birth control. But, instead say how or why you have not gotten pregnant in the last 4 years. Who said no mam you are not nuts, you have thyroid issue. I am thankful to that doctor who spent a good 25 minutes with me talking with me. I did not have to insist on certain test or to insist to see a certain type of doctor because she was ahead of the ball game and wanted the same things.
I am thankful for a husband who set with me for hours this week after we saw my hormone levels and laughed with me. Who helped research thyroid with me and then laughed when it says things like you are foggy headed. When I baked a cake on broil or poured a can of pumpkin and a white cake mix in a pan and forgot to mix them he did not laugh. I may have a new excuse for all the silly things I do.
I do have a question, do you have thyroid issues? If so what made you have it checked and how do you treat it?

Thankful Thursday

I have so much to be thankful for.
I am thankful for a husband who encourages me to stay home and care for our children.
I am thankful for children who still want to be near mom.
I am thankful for a son who laid his head on my shoulder tonight.
I am thankful for the Army, I know that sounds weird but if it was not for the Army I would not be the strong woman I am today.
I am thankful for friends who came to my defense when someone said things against me. You ladies made me feel normal and loved.
I am thankful that my children feel that it is okay to tell everyone they meet about Jesus dying on the cross for them.
I am thankful for these kittens that are now running around my living room. They make me giggle every day.
I am thankful for my front porch that gives me enough protection from the rain but still lets me see it and feel the breezes.
I am thankful for the baby birds in the front yard because they give me something else to take pictures of.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday
First I am thankful for these pictures, they are pictures of the Diet Pepsi that my husband drinks daily. This is his favorite thing in the world. So to know that he can still have this treat makes me thankful.
Today I am thankful for so much. I am thankful that I have a house with running water, even if the toilet is not flushing perfectly.
Today I am thankful that I have a ice maker on my fridge because I have never had one.
Today I am thankful that I serve a Savior who forgives me for my attitude and complaints yesterday.
Today I am thankful for a husband who was patient with me yesterday when I was snippy with him for no reason.
Today I am thankful that my children are healthy and are able to help me when I need it.
Today I am thankful for all of the wonderful blog friends who have left me positive comments over the last month.
Today I am thankful that there are baby birds in the bushes right beside my drive way because I so dislike the bushes and it is really making me smile.
Today I am thankful that ADT did not laugh at me when I called because my alarm would not stop beeping. HE did not laugh when he told me it was not the alarm. I later found out that it was my dishwasher that apparently has a delay start button.
Today I am grateful for my friends who keep me laughing, who listen when I complain, who does not care when I call them for the same recipe a million times (Becky).
Today I am thankful for friends (Kristie) who taught me to sew so I can offer things like my camera strap give away right here.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am grateful that I can officially tell you DH is in his final location and he is settled in as best he can be.
I am thankful for this picture
See my son had to have blood work this morning just to make sure a medicine he is on is not causing any problems with him. No big deal for most people. But let me tell you a story. Two years ago my husband took my son in for VACCINES and it ended up something like this.
My husband lay over my son and another man held my husband down. My son bit through my husband’s BDU shirt and t-shirt. When they were done they told him they were done. As soon as they let him up he went running through the clinics screaming how the Bible says you should not vaccinate (do you see what he was there for) and that this place was hurting children. He did not care to open rooms where appointments were happening. They called a code something and a bunch of men came running. They chased Michael until he was cornered and then escorted him out of the hospital. So needless to say today was scary. He said he did not need me to go back with him so when he went back the girls and I took hands and prayed and I sat there in tears until he came out. No problems. He did it on his own. Well with the knowledge I was rewarding him if he did well.
I am thankful for my husband and other soldiers (like the 20 who were in the lab watching us pray) who fight for our freedom so we can do things like pray in public.
I am also thankful for these precious kittens who are growing stronger everyday and who now hiss at me. It is so stinking cute. They still hide under my bed but I expect them out soon.

Thankful Thursday

Through all my crying and whinning we did it, well she did it. We have babies. Four of them. They seem to be healthy. These pictres were taken this morning. It does not look like there eyes are open yet. Mommy cat is doing great but she is in attack mode towards our little dog and it is making for lots of drama in the house.

Thankful Thursday

I am typing this one handed because I am holding a very pragnant kitty right now. Today I am thankful for my dirty dishes and clean unfolded laundry because it means I am taking the time to enjoy feeling kittens move. I am taking the time to enjoy my family. We have gone to the zoo, gone to the library, gone to parks, played in the yard and well just had fun. Do not worry school is happening just slowing and not from 7-3pm.
I am thankful that my husband is still here. We are in wait mode. Flights have started again but they have alot of stranded soldiers that need to be taken care of before they ship out new soldiers.
Only a couple of more days to enter my give away. If you have not entered all you need to do is click here
